If men planned weddings...

Screw the dress...
Skip the florist...
Bypass the videographer...
Save yourself $25k...

For all you non-bride brides out there...I've found your solution.

AutoWed is precisely what it appears to be: a vending machine that performs instant marriages, infusing the Big Day with all the romance of a fire hydrant. Insert money, and it’ll mumble through your basic wedding rites (press one for “I do” or press two to “escape”). Then the 8-foot-tall gadget, which designers UK-based Concept Shed describe as “part parking meter, part Cadillac and part cathedral with a little steam punk thrown in,” spits out a pair of plastic eggs with rings inside and a personalized wedding receipt. It finishes up by offering a 10% discount on AutoDivorce.

"Press 2 for escape." Love it!

Pretty cold if you ask me but I'm sure the men will be swooning!

What will they come up with next??!

Worth the wait.

Y'all-I cannot explain how extremely pleased I am!!!

I am SO glad we took the time to do this photo session and would HIGHLY recommend it to any bride! (Your husband may hate the idea of it at first but once he realizes it will shut you up, he'll go along with it...) Happy wife; happy life!

Don't worry...there are plenty more.
These were just a few of my faves!

I finally feel like I can do our wedding some justice with a full re-cap.
...stay tuned.

Love. Love.

Ranch. Pinterest. Naked babies.

Random? I know.
But it's what my weekend consisted of.

What better thing to do on a ranch than run around
and take random iPhone photos??

WH Ranch

I've convinced Beau I want to be a photographer. Or at least a photographer's assistant. He's convinced we would starve. Hey, a girl can dream, right?! (Note to self: buy snazzy camera.)

Anyways...I didn't think there could possibly be another mindless social media tactic that could steal my productiveness away even more...wrong. I think I spent half the weekend frolicking around on here. That's right-I'm talking about Pinterest.

Anyone else obsessed??
Good! Now follow me!

You know you couldn't resist singing it in your head.

And also from Pinterest...a Pomsky.
(Pomeranian + Husky=Pomsky)

I can't stop thinking about how much
I need this little fluff ball in my life.

And, last, because we all love nakey babies....isn't little Kylee adorbs?!

(Beau's cousin's nugget)
Who doesn't love babies in the sink?!

Hope you had a pinteresting/naked baby kind of weekend!
Happy Monday!

Have husband; will travel

Our theory:

No nuggets....that we know of ;)
No plans of having nuggets anytime soon.
A little extra spending cash.

...random Hawaiian vacation?
...to visit these two lovebirds?...in 3 short months?

I think yes!

This has ta be thee best email a girl can receive at work:

God love that husband of mine...

So, there!

Apparently we're going to Honolulu (not that this matters to me since I'm geographically challenged) but Beau has informed me that it's "where Pearl Harbor happened."

Greeeeaaaat. The most I know about Pearl Harbor is the fact that Ben Affleck & Josh Hartnett were there.

But anyhoo-I know some of you women can, indeed, read a map and have been before there so I has to know all about it!

Maybe I'll pretend we're on our honeymoon again? Why the hell not?!

I've heard it's fun lying to complete strangers.

79 days and counting...

June 20, 2011

Just a few general announcements

... and because I feel the need to discuss my weekend in orderly fashion.

1. Friday was full of fails.
Big, obnoxious, make you want to go home and just go to bed #fails. It all started when I left my perfectly good workout to hit to pool. Felt all kinds of cute in my new floppy hat, got to the pool-broken. Fine. Decided we would go watch Mr. Popper's Penguins (yes, I'm willing to pay perfectly good money to see this). Spent 30 plus minutes attempting to park, got all the way to the ticket booth-sold out. Of course it is. Figured we would stop to get gas, go to dinner and call it a night. Got to the pump-no gas. Really?? You can only imagine the F* bombs that were being dropped at this point...

The best part of Friday was drinking out of a mason jar.
Yes...the day sucked so bad that this was the highlight of it all.

To say the least, you can only imagine how happy I was when I woke up to a new day on Saturday.

2. I'm awarding myself wife of the year. I don't care what Beau says. I woke up at 7am on a Saturday to go watch him play 4 softball games in 105 degree weather. Not to mention, I packed a pretty legit ice chest and made a Subway run for him. I must say, although my makeup was melting, my hair was all sorts of windblown and my dress stuck to my ass every time I stood up-my hot pink ice chest and lawn chair mixed with my zebra sundress kept me feeling like a legit diva. (Got the visual? Good!)

3. I was too productive for my own good on Sunday and you need to know about it.

In list form, of course:
  • Hit the gym AND grocery store by 11am. ((BTW-have I ever mentioned how much I love the grocery store?? No? We'll save that for another time...))
  • Unloaded everything, put fresh sunflowers in a vase, and cleaned the house by noon. There's just something about fresh flowers....
  • Packed the ice chest, cut up all the burger fixins, made banana pudding for FIL and spent the afternoon at the pool grilling with the fam. ((Learned a lesson from Friday...this time I called to make sure it was functioning properly...success.))
  • Took full advantage of my mother-in-law's 25 year old Louie that she so graciously passed down to me. (Free admission to the LV club?! I'm not ashamed...)

  • Gave the Victoria's Secret semi annual sale one last chance to take my paycheck (...Victoria won...as usual. New swimmy suit-in the mail-yesss.) and only 32 smackaroos! ((Fun fact about Beau: the man hates ruffles. Just because of this-I love them even more.))

  • Made a fresh batch of flaxseed pancakes for work this week.
  • Shared a glass of vino (Duchman Vermentino-to be exact) with the hubs while watching him drool over Miss USA and hit the hay. ((BTW-we found Brittany Toll's (Miss New Mexico) blog. ((It's kinda cool to stalk someone "semi-famous"...))Link
Hope your weekend was NOT full of fails.
Happy Monday! ((not.))

A precious little gem

Clearly I didn't write the inside portion but check out my mad handwriting skills on the cover. Good thing I've figured out the whole "y" thing and learned what an apostrophe was since then...
Hope you all had a wonderful day with your daddy-o's!
Cherish every moment.
Love you, dad.
Miss you more than anything.

Warning: this gets deep.

For the past two years I have watched my co-worker's
husband battle lung cancer.
From chemo, to radiation, to strokes, to neurological damage,
he's been a fighter, to say the least.
And she is the epitome of strength.
Cathleen has felt like my work mom since I started so to see her go through something so traumatic is just down right nauseating.

Today the battle ended.
Cancer won.

Knowing what my mom went through and is still going through after 3 years of my dad's passing is a hard pill to swallow so knowing what's down the road for Cat really hits home.

...in more ways than anyone will ever know.

Sometimes it's times like this that remind you just how precious life really is.
How short but sweet each and every day we have on this earth is.
How beautiful it is to wake up each and every morning,
whether the sun is shining or rain is pouring from the sky.
What it feels and sounds like to hear "I love you" from your husband
or to hear your mom's voice on the other end of the phone.
How important it is to forgive and to forget.
And most importantly, to never take anything or anyone for granted.

It's 8:30am and I am already one emotional hot mess.
What a day?

So use this as a reminder to let your loved ones know just how much you care.

And can I ask one teeny tiny favor?
Please say a little prayer for my Kit-Cat.
She needs it.

Sweet Sixteen

Happy 2 month anniversary to my handsome, passionate, charming,
thoughtful, caring, sexy, loving lil' honeybee!
Love this one of him singing to me :)
"I do" by Mark Wills

Thank you for picking me to be your bride! ;)
I'm a lucky, lucky girl.

June 13, 2011

Hide yo cats, hide yo man

What can I say??
Homegirl haz issuez. Like, big ones.

How the french toast is this chick
an MBA grad from Villanova???

Thanks, Debbie for making me feel better about myself.

Beau-you totally hit the wife lottery.
You coulda married this whackjob.

Just sayin'...

June 12, 2011

Quite the Sunday

To my benefit, I'm not absolutely nuts for retaking our wedding photos. Apparently this is something that is very common. SO common, there's even a name for it..."groomals". Yes-this makes me sleep better at night so we'll just go with it.

((BTW-If you're new to my little world-you might want to read this first.))

Anywho-today we had our "groomals", if you would, and just by seeing the teeny tiny 1" x 1" screen on my photog's camera...I don't think we will be disappointed! And duh...yes you will see them as soon as I have them in my little fingees!

PS-if I've never mentioned before that taking wedding/bridal photos is a job....hear me loud and clear...TAKING WEDDING/BRIDAL PHOTOS IS A JOB. Got it? A little piece of advice...make sure you have at least 3 people there to help. OH! & booze.
God forbid-don't forget the booze.

Poor Beau. He was such a good sport. He looked so handsome all over again and is always so patient with my demanding ways. What a saint...

Now that it's all said and done-I am so relieved. I am confident this time around and can honestly say I know there are some great shots on that little memory card of Tom's. It was kind of fun to have my hair and makeup done all over again. What girl doesn't what that?! And the fact that I got to wear my wedding dress for a third time-psshh...icing on the cake! (Bridals, wedding, groomals-that's 3.) BUT-let me say that again...BUT, I got so sick of trying to explain to people in the mall (where I had my hair and makeup done) that I was already married and the reason I was dressed like a bride was because of blah, blah, and blah. I may or may not have told mini fibs to just a few people. My makeup lady thought I was having bridal portraits done. The shoe salesman in Dillard's thinks I'm getting married next week. And one random person in Sephora thinks I'm renewing my vows. HA.

To top off my day...as we were walking to the car after our pictures I had a missed call and text from my best friend, Julie. I just knew what she was
going to tell me when I got her text stating "Call me. ASAP."

Yup! She's engaged!!!! Do you know what this means for me???
ANOTHER wedding to plan!

Looks like catching your best friend's
bouquet is lucky afterall!

(Bad pic but it's the only one I gotz.)
Ok ladies...I'm off to give my groom some TLC.
After today, he def deserves it!

In the meantime-I double dog dare you to not spend hours gazing at these uh-mazing websites that inspired today's photo sesh...

Enjoy, girlies!

What do you say we pretend just for today that this blog is PostSecret? But it's not. But it kind of is....since, well, you'll be posting a secret. Anyways...we all have them, we're all too scared to share them, and the idea of be judged for them-well, is just down right terrifying-right?! Right.

So here's how it works:

1) This is open to anyone who wants to participate, from regular follower to casual visitor.

2) Post a secret anonymously, no names please. (This means you better make sure you check that little "anonymous" box at the bottom of the comment form...unless, of course, you want everyone else to know your dirt...)

3) I don't plan to censor content or language. However I do reserve the right to remove anything which appears to be posted with the sole intent of offending.

4) I am doing this because I know we all have secrets to hide, we all need someone to listen, and we all need to know that someone is going through something similar.

5) and remember... one of these secrets, will be mine. Muahahaha!

So-we all want to know...what's your dirty little secret??

*Surely you didn't think I was this creative? You did?! That's sweet.
But really...this was stolen from originally found at Rasha @ & this is what she said.
So go visit her little slice of the world wide web and leave her your little secrets every Tuesday. :)

June 7, 2011

Ooh la la...

I never watch Jimmy Kimmel. I never watch any late night show (it's past my little beddy-bye time) but Beau showed me this video last night so I had to share.

So just hit that little play button. You can thank me later.

With the exception of the old guys (sorry-I'm so bad with celeb names),
I think they were all pretty much covered there!

....Patrick, Brad, Ben, Matthew, Gilles, Josh....

The only few I could think of that were completely left out were these:

God forbid, Jimmy-how could forget...

Mr. Walker
Mr. Cooper
Mr. Beckham
Mr. Reynolds
...are you drooling yet? You're welcome.

Sharing the wealth

Just a few things I've come across lately that make life that much better! Enjoy!

1. Logitech Revue by Google
  • Turns any TV into the internet.
  • What I'm tryin' to tell you here is that you can blog and watch TV at the same time. GENIUS! (Or in my case, you can blog while your husband watches ESPN).
    See?? See!!
2. Kindle app for iPhone
  • Turns your iPhone into a Kindle.
  • Download the books directly from the Kindle store straight to your iPhone and voila! You have mobile books without a $200 price tag.
  • Once again, GENIUS.
3. Benefit YOU REBEL tinted moisturizer
  • Works as both a light foundation AND a sunscreen. Fabulous-duh!
  • No-but for serious-I NEVER have to put sunscreen on my face because of this stuff AND you can wear "makeup" to the pool without feeling guilty.
4. Flaxseed pancakes
  • Originally found here.
  • Just made my first batch for dinner...quick, easy & simply amazing...without the bloatedness. Can I get a hell ya, sisters?
5. And on that last note...Karena & Katrina
  • I think I have found myself a new girl crush, er-crushes
  • Two gorgeous beach bums who come up with the best workouts, recipes and motivational tips who blog all about it? Yes, please!
  • How am I just now finding these girls????

The one that got away

Still just as stunning as when I tried it on.
Maggie Sottero - Ambrosia
I loved this gown.
Who wouldn't?!

That Maggie sure knows how to tug at a girl's heart strings.

And yes...I'm that girl who thinks it's perfectly normal to still look through bridal magazines after the fact. I've got single girlfriends, okay?!

Oh! && by the way...I stumbled upon the newest edition of my ring. I may be just a leeeetle bias but is it not gorgey??!!

Scott Kay - Tiara

Yours truly,
Wedding Obsessed
