While I'd like to pretend it's Friday...

It's Monday. I've been one-armed for over a week now. And I'm trying to co-raise a 10-week old piranha of a puppy. (Those puppy teeth will be the death of me...I swear.) Needless to say, impatience and frustrated would be the perfect word combination to describe my current situation.

While I'd like to pretend it's Friday, I have two fully-functioning arms and a puppy who doesn't bite the shizznit out of me anymore, those would be unrealistic expectations so lets go back in time to the weekend, shall we?
one - three. Our baby. Yes-I'm a little obsessed. Yes-she's already doubled in size. Yes-I want to pull out every last tooth in her head.
four. If this were a game of clue, I'd say it was Annie Oakley, in the shower, next to the raccoon.
five. His and her's brights for our housewarming party! Cannot WAIT to get in that skirt!!
six. Coral mani with a blue party nail. #yesiknoweasterwaslastweekend
seven. Guess who hit up the gym this weekend, sling and all!? Oh yes. This girl.
eight. Guess who also spent a fair amount of Sunday at the pool?!
nine. First sunburn of 2013. I will gladly accept it! #alittlevitamindneverhurtnoone

Sunday night we made a little headway on our housewarming party plans, took little Miss Annie Oakley on a LONG walk around the lake (she's getting REALLY good on her leash, y'all!) and ended the night watching the ACM's. Carrie, Miranda and Jana Kramer totally rocked the stage and can we talk about the Garth Brooks/George Strait duet? Was it just me or did you die and go to heaven seeing the two of them on stage together?!

Country music history, right there, y'all!

Hope you all had a fab weekend! What do you say we kick this week in the tush?! ;)

Linking up with Sami today!

  4. Oh the puppy teeth are horrible. Our husky started to lose her's around 3.5 months so maybe it won't be too much longer.

  5. Ah, puppy teeth. Remember those days like they were yesterday! We always just put a toy in their mouth so they would not use us as chew toys! You are almost in the clear with those! Not much longer!

  6. Don't worry girl, I still have Easter nails too. And yes, George and Garth together was amazing. May have had "holy crap" tears!

  8. I cannot tell you how much we love the KONG & Nylabone toys. They are a little expensive but we had/have a heavy chewer and they are a lifesaver, we get the strongest ones they offer! (once in a while you can find them at TJ Maxx/Marshalls)

  9. Oh the puppy teeth. The day they fall out is the greatest day of your life. I was pretty sure I was going to bleed to death during our puppy teeth phase...

  11. You are reminding me of those sweet & not-so-sweet puppy days! Hang in there... soon, she won't be a "puppy"! :( I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for your house warming party!

  12. Puppies! I love puppies! Did Oakley learn her lesson and think about what she'd done???

  13. I remember when my dog was a puppy (she's now 2 1/2...time flies!). Yep, those teeth and hyperness... ugh! My fav. puppy toys, like someone else mentioned, are the KONG and Nylabone brands. My/doggie's favorite bone in particular is,nd still is, the white, Dura Chew Nylabone. It's super durable! Sometimes I like to put it in the KONG toy so she can hold it better, hehe. Might be worth a try to test out antlers and other real bones that they sell in the petstores. They also make a rubber toy that you can also freeze, that one is awesome too! Lots of walks, playtime, and running/chasing my dog in our yard would wear her out! Good luck and hang in there, girl! :)

  14. Aww, very adorable pup! When our dog was a puppy, she swallowed her baby teeth a lot. ugh.

  15. So my pup was (and is allllmost done being) mouthy. I know people mentioned toys (which is neccessary) but I found that since my girl was so attention motivated, if I said NO! and then ignored here as soon as she put her teeth on me she would get sad and calm down and it helped! Plus it's an age thing too. Hang in there!

disclaimer: it's SUPER hard to ignore an adorable puppy. stay strong.

  16. Awwww I call the puppy biting "love bites" but when they hit a nerve it HURTSSSSS! When my dog was a pupper, I would hold their mouth closed when they were getting bitey and get down on eye level and firmly say "Noooo biting!" and it works.

She's getting so big! How much longer are you down to just 1 arm?

  17. When our dog was a puppy and bit us all the time, we'd yip like a dog since that was her cue to stop biting at other dogs. She'd look at us like we were nuts (we agreed we looked it) but she did respond to it and eventually stop trying. Of course, lots of toys too. We carried a toy in our pocket all the time to immediately hand to her if she started chewing on anything. She's four now and has only chewed one shoe in her whole life the first week we got her despite all the crazy warnings we got about labs and chewing. I think being proactive and consistent are crucial. Good luck!!

  18. Your dog is so adorable! It's nice that their cuteness makes up for their annoying habits, right?!
I hope your arm is feeling better very soon!

  19. Those puppy teeth! Ouch! My Maddie is 12 and I can still remember how much her jagged little razor teeth hurt! We used Sour Apple spray, which really seemed to deter her. Good luck! Beautiful as ever..sling and all!

  21. I envy your pool weather! However I'm thankful it was nice enough here to wear shorts this weekend w/thunderstorms and all Sunday!

    Your puppy is beyond adorable!

The ACM's were awesome! Seeing Garth was just amazeballs! The band Perry rocked that stage, Bluke was hilarious! Luke's acceptance speech for entertainer of the year had me in tears!!

  22. OMG! I totally missed the Garth/George appearance, I wanted to see it so bad but I forgot to record it... ugh. How was it? I wonder if I can find it online somewhere.

  23. oakley is getting so big! i wish they stayed puppy size longer. but stopped with the biting. i am jealous that you can lay out in the sun. 5 minutes and i am fried.

  24. Ahh yes, the puppy teeth. Have you tried yelping and turning your back to her when she nips?? Huckleberry used to be bad about that and that's what we did. It's the same way another pup in the litter would act if she bit them and it hurt so they understand it! :)

  25. I was so excited to see Garth sing again, and to add George to the experience. My husband laughed at me and asked why I had tears in my eyes, which my reply was hush Garth is singing, talk when it is over never during. Wish he would have sang more!!!

  29. Oooooh the puppy teeth!! Razors in cute disguise... just wait until they just start falling out....then their big teeth grow in...and they still have the puppy biting habit.. ow. Why do they just want to chew on us?? But she is getting so big and even more adorable! Love those ears!

  31. I squealed like a school girl when Garth & George came out...how much better does it get than that?!

And I about hit the floor (and almost dropped my baby) when Luke won Entertainer of the Year. I'm going to pretend like the 4397594370735 times I voted for him made all the difference in the world. :)
