Wedding Wednesday! (almost...)

Details...

It's the little things like this that make wedding planning (for me!) so much fun!

I made these for all my girls to hang their dresses on the day of the wedding! (Oh yea, and one for me & Beau too.)

Front of mine & Beau's hangers

Mine (of course!) has a little extra bling!
...what's a bride with no bling?!

...and don't forget the back!

The "o" is a diamond ring! :)

These were supposed to be a surprise for the girls but I know they are reading this and therefore...I ruined my own surprise. I couldn't wait! These turned out SO stinkin' cute! Sorry girls! More surprises to come!!

Anyways, if you would like to make these for any occasion, leave me a comment with your e-mail address and I'll be happy to help you! Or better yet, make them for you & ship them to you!

Showers, showers & more showers!

Guess what my weekend consisted of...I'll give you ONE hint. No, I won't give you any hints. It consisted of showers. So many that I had to miss one. (*darn*) Ok that sounded rude but it was a baby shower that I had to miss and we all know how overly thrilled I am about going to baby showers these days, especially traveling out of town for a baby shower...so un-necessary!

Anywho...

Saturday was Kirby & Jon's couple's shower. Kirby is one of Beau's very best girl friends...friend that's a girl...you get it. So much that she has already claimed him as her "Made of Honor" lol. I LOVE couple's showers! (Hence the fact that I'm having 2!) Beau, on the other hand, not so much. He typically goes for the free booze, and quite possibly, to look at judge the host's house. (Love you babe!) By judge, I mean, taking pictures in the hosts' wine cellar....

Beau, Kirby, Me
Me, Kirby & Rachel
(I think that's her name. The wine may or may not have something to do with the fact that I forgot it?!)
Fancy, schmancy cat...Puddy! He was SO cute and sweet and not to mention, posed long enough for me to play papa-paparazzi!
The soon-to-be Hollidays!
Jon & Kirby
Me & Beau
Sunday, my friend (and now co-worker!) Krissy had her baby shower! I was excited about this one...she's the cutest pregnant girl EVER and I got to see a lot of old friends!

...like LYDIA!!! Yes...the one over in Kuwait! Well, she's here for now and I was SO happy to see her!!! She was the hostess-with-the-mostest (as always!)
Krissy received a lot of great gifts to welcome little Kash into this big ol' world!
Me & the Mom!
(awkward pose...I don't know why I am standing like that?)
You would have thought I would have taken more pictures of the fabulous baby decorations, like the baby shoe tree, handmade cake pops, and onesies too small to fit my chihuahua...but no...I totally disregarded it all. :( Oh well..you get the point?!

These were the last few showers we will be attending before we have our very own! EEeek! So excited to have everyone under one roof to celebrate the up and coming nuptials!

Bad bride...

I find myself to be a very organized person. Anyone who knows me would probably agree...even my attorney! (She really did tell me that!) I've always been this way. And I always will. (Well, maybe I'll rethink that last statement after this post...) Throughout all this wedding planning, I've had calendar after calendar and spreadsheet after spreadsheet that I keep on my person at ALL times...hey, you never know when you might need to bust one out! Anyways...I might as well get straight to the point...

See this...

And this...
And this...
These are my organizers/planners/calenders/life. These are what keep me the sane working, wedding planning, exercising, on-the-go fool that I am. I write EVERYTHING down in both of these. Yes, the same thing...written twice. (It's repetition people!) I've learned over the past couple of years that if it doesn't get written down...chances are it's NOT going to happen.

When I do write something down, it usually gets done.
(That says- August 22: NW Forest Open House...which is when my wedding venue holds their food tastings for weddings.)
Gets done my ass! I left my organizers/planners/calenders/life at my office over the weekend.
Yup-that's a big fat "X" because we missed the ENTIRE event!BAD BRIDE!
How did I let us miss our tasting?!

I realized this, oh, at 8pm Sunday night...we were supposed to go at like, oh, 2pm. I immediately texted our wedding coordinator to tell her 1. that I was a total moron and 2. to ask her when the next one would be scheduled. She replied,"Probably January". Really, Stephanie?! Grr..I took my lazy, unproductive Sunday for granted and literally did nothing.

So shame on me. How dare I think I could sneak away from the planners for one, single weekend! Never again...

Have you ever thought to yourself...

"What would people think if they ever listened to my conversations?"

Well, I have.

This past Saturday night Beau and I were at dinner and decided to get crab legs. As soon as Beau got his hands on the first crab leg I heard a sly squeal come from him. Loud enough to where I could clearly hear it but quiet enough to be sure no one else could hear him.

Me: What was that?!
Beau: It's the sound my crab made when I ripped his leg off.

Little things like this just crack me up so I asked him,"Do you ever wonder what people would think of us if they actually heard all the dumb things we talk about?" He agreed that we probably wouldn't have any friends and that our intelligence would totally be questioned but nonetheless, we went on with our useless conversations!

As dinner continued, we made our typical small talk. Beau questioned the picture on the wall of a kid holding a fish 5 times the size of him. He put so much thought into it he preceded to ask the waiter about it. As dessert came out (nothing less than bread pudding!) Beau asked our waiter to bring ice cream with it. The ice cream arrived and that's when I know I was marrying someone that would make me laugh for the rest of my life. (Ok so I've known this for a while now but this was one more thing to confirm that indeed, it was true.)

He looked at his mouth watering bowl of vanilla bean ice cream, tilted his head to
the side, and I'm not exaggerating one bit when I say that he put his face really
close to the bowl and said (to his ice cream),"I don't even need all that bread pudding because I've got you. I love you ice creeeaaam!" As I watched all this unfold in front of me at dinner, in public, it just tickled me pink.

I can't sit here and say I don't throw in my antics here and there (because I most definitely do) so I will admit to the couple of absolutely stupid things I did at dinner.

I wasn't the one who busted out the song "Stuck Like Glue" multiple times throughout our meal (No names) but I will admit to the fact that I may or may not have fallen out of the booth, which totally was the booth's fault. I also may or may not have given my crab claw crackers a little pep talk and last, Beau and I most definitely commented over and over again how much we loved Fish City Grill's ice. Really? Their ice cubes?! And to end the night, we spent an hour sitting at the bar playing a video game where we had to get penguins to the other side of the river. (Hi. How old are we?!) Beau blamed the computer for cheating, which confirms that yes, I won and yes, Beau can sometimes be a sore loser.

I honestly do wonder what people would think if they heard half the stuff that came out of my mouth, but hey, someone's gotta ask all the stupid questions or confess their love to their bowl of ice cream, and those "someone's" just might be Beau & I!

What would people think of YOU if they ever heard your sometimes pointless conversations?

It's so stinkin' close I can taste it...

That's right-COLLEGE FOOTBALL is almost here!!!!
Two weekends from now we will be soaking up the fresh smell of beer and sweaty tailgaters at good ole' Robertson Stadium and to be quite honest...I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THAT! I love going back to campus, wearing cute UH gear, seeing old sorority sisters and cheering for our Cougars with the best of friends!! Who wouldn't love that! Beau and I went in with about 20 other friends and got season tickets this year so we don't have to mooch off of our friends to find tickets last minute anymore!

With Case Keenum as the QB we are definitely headed in the right direction for the season!
Although I am not a fan of cold weather, my favorite football games are the ones where we get to wear jeans and a hoodie and I get to snuggle up next to my love while drinking hot chocolate. Ahh...memories! :)

So here's to whipping out the good ole' shocker Cougar paw & rooting for our home team!

GO COOGS!

Wedding Wednesday!

Honeymoon = Booked!

Yep! I received a phone call from the fiance telling me he has officially booked our honeymoon! One more thing off our list!

Honeymoon = Destination Unknown! (eeek!)

That's right! Beau booked the honeymoon and I have no idea where we are going and I WON'T know until we get there!

I did, however, lay down a few ground rules.
I told him that it
had to be 5 days or longer and it had to be somewhere tropical so I would be able to wear my pink "Just Married" bikini and my white "Newlywed" bikini!
DUH! Hopefully, he followed the rules but I honestly couldn't even guess as to where we are going! He has referred several times to the following:

Camel riding
Hunting in South Africa
Scarves & coats
Deep sea fishing

I get a little worried when he says things like "We need to buy you camo for the honeymoon" but then again I know he booked it somewhere we would both enjoy! Exciting!!

Next step... invitations!

I've Decided...

If I could pick any career in the world that is totally off the wall, so-not-the-typical-me, it would for sure be a cake maker (excuse my lack of not knowing what the professional name is.)

That's right. I would love to work for this guy...
Creating fabulous, edible pieces of art like this...

And this...
Spending all day using my creative mind to make things like this...
And this...
And of course, making cakes that replicate food items like this...
And last, but definitely not least, so I could make my bff a cake like this!

Screw the idea of ever wanting to be a dental hygienist...if I made cakes I could work on teeth on any given day!

I'm totally confident in the fact that I have a very creative mind, but my lack of patience would totally fail me if this were my profession. (And that fact that I would eat all the cake batter before the cake even made it in the oven, but we won't go there!)

If you could pick ANY dream job in the world...practical or not...what would you be?!
