Today I Wish...

...this was the view to my front.

...this was the view to my back.

...some really tan cabana boy would serve me unlimited adult bevvies in pretty pink coconuts all day long on the beach.

...my biggest decision of the day was what swimsuit to wear. (And what to NOT eat for the next 4 months so I can look like this...)

...and my only concern was not chipping my pretty pink nail polish.

Oh wait. In 108 days, 14 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds, this will no longer be a wish. ;)

Ok-that was downright mean. I know.

Atlantis...here we come!

Beau has been before but it's been a good 10 years so ANY/ALL suggestions are welcome! I specifically want to know where any secret, beautiful beaches are, how to hit the jackpot in the casino, and how to finagle my way into staying there for the rest of my life. Oh-and any dinero saving tips are welcome too! I know this place can be a leeeeeetle spendy...

(Today's idea for this post was 1000% stolen from Stormy) ;)

  2. Stop it. I'm so jealous! Haha! I haven't been to the Atlantis since 2006, so alot has changed since then. But seriously, everything you need is at the resort! We never even left the island when I went. It was pure paradise, you'll love it! I do remember food + drinks being prettttyyy expensive though . Like $15 + for a mixed drink at the pool bars and $6 for a bag of chips or box of mac n cheese from the local market? Just save what you can and it might now hurt to sneak your own bottle of vodka.. or a few if continuous day drinking is on your agenda :)

  3. Take me with you! And put me in that swimsuit too! I've never been to Atlantis but pretty sure after seeing your pictures, I am putting that on the to-do list. Jealous!

  5. Jealous!! I LOVE the Bahamas! I have been a few times always on cruises though. Paradise Island is great but if you go into Nassau you must visit the straw market. The people who sell in there are absolutely annoying but hey have really neat things you can buy. I like to think of it as tacky tourist treasure heaven. Plus Senor Frogs is right by it and that is always a fun time too!

  8. I've been the past two summers (babysitting, but still awesome) and I would recommend leaving the resort for eating, at least for a couple of nights to save $$. There is a GREAT seafood restaurant just over the bridge (I can't remember the name but I am sure your taxi driver will know). We also may or may not have had Ben & Jerry's almost every night :). They will also bring you a bucket of beer at a time if you request it down on the beach! Enjoy - I am so sad I won't be going back this summer!

  9. I spent 5 days there back in February and it was a dream vacation. Literally, the time of my life!

Carmine's (Italian) & Virgil's (BBQ) are both family style dining and both were incredible. I highly recommend those two places. The Marketplace was a delicious buffet that had everything a hibachi station, mounds of sushi, a nacho bar, meat carving stations, pasta bars, a HUGE dessert bar and so much more. The Point restaurant has some delicious steak fries that I ate pretty much every day. We ate at the Bahamian Club for our final night where I had the best steak that I will probably ever have in my lifetime. If it's in the budget or you're celebrating something special, go there.

The slides are an absolute BLAST and for one of them you sit in the tube and a conveyer belt moves you up. I don't know if I'm just a lazy bum but that was an absolute dream to me! We rented a sailboat one of the days and that's the only time we left the island because there is so much to do right at the resort.

Now that I just took a trip down memory lane, I'm sad and want to go back. I hope you have the same experience I did. It's definitely a place that I want to visit again and again! :)

    HAVE SO MUCH FUN!

  22. So fun!! I haven't been in a few years but I definitely suggest going into Nassau and do a little shopping. Also, we went deep sea fishing and they knew a restaurant that would cook one of the fish for us for dinner. That was fun! Also, there is a place (a short boat ride away) where you can swim with the dolphins but I think the Atlantis has that now.

  23. ok. this whole post is not fair. I started to read it while I was at summer school and suppose to be listening to kids read and literally had to lay my phone down so I didn't run out of the room and quit. lol I'm so excited for you though if that makes this post less dramatic! :) Tilly said Oaks is more than welcome to come over for a slumber party if needed!

  25. Atlantis is fabulous! I am so excited for you. Two suggestions - be sure to do the sea lion encounter - it is super fun. And stay away from the huge water slide that is straight up and down. My husband cut his back pretty badly on it. Atlantis is awesome. You will have a great time!! Susan
