When The Husband Is Away, The Wife Will Play

Wasn't it, like, JUST Monday? I swear...I feel like I was just fighting this same battle not too long ago, cursing my alarm clock, fighting to keep one eyeball open, anxiously awaiting for my first cup-a-joe to kick in. Anywho-guess there's nothing we can do about this whole "Monday thing" so we might as well live it up, right?!

You know those weekends that pass by and though you didn't really do anything newsworthy you just feel so gosh darn good about it?! That's how mine was and I just LOVED it...all of it. I tried my hardest to squeeze every last drop out of it but come 10pm Sunday night, it was light's out for this girl. I take that back...I loved everything about it except for the fact that hunting season is in FULL force which means the husby was gone doing manly things and shooting anything in site. Which leads me to my newest way of rewarding myself for staying home alone: spend all of his monies.

You think I'm kidding?

BAM.
New bed/new dresser for the new house.

Oh, Restoration Hardware how you have officially stolen my heart (& all my husband's dollars). I don't think I've ever loved a bed so much! I can already tell this is going to be a love/hate relationship. (PS: RH is having 20% off EVERYTHING but it ends today so {in my best informercial voice} you must act now!)

Saturday afternoon my favorite little Austinite (ahem...Shay) came in town to stay with me! Okay-so maybe she had a few photo shoots that just so happened to be in my hometown but I choose to believe she made the trek just for me!) ;)
This girl...nothing short of amazing. Hysterical. Beautiful (inside & out). Insightful. Sweet as pie. And just so much fun! And to think I would have never known her (or my Katiebug) if it weren't for this little blogging world of ours??

From taking her out to see our new house and dressing her up in Beau's costume to dinner, drinks and a night that may or may not have ended up with Magic Mike on my TV (ow owwww!)...I think I speak for us both when I say we were both overdue for some girl time. :)

Sunday morning Shalyn & I woke up bright and early, made a fresh pot of coffee and spent the first 4 hours of the day lounging around in our pj's and makeupless faces just chatting, blogging and laughing until it was time for her to go. Perhaps it was more me convincing her to move to Houston while she continuously changed the subject but that's neither here nor there...

The rest of the day was spent with my momma bear and the brother's girlfriend (ahem...hopefully soon-to-be-fiance!), Brooke, at the Nutcracker Market (aka: the BIGGEST shopping frenzy in all of Houston that only takes place once a year.) It goes without saying I spent a little too much monies (again) and am glad it only comes around one time a year.

Iono about y'all but I just love me a good weekend!

We're expecting a cold front today and I canNOT be more excited!! I'm ready to stop switching from shorts and tanktops to boots and scarves already.

Houston...makeup your gosh durn mind already, wouldya?!
Happy Monday, lovebugs! I hope yours doesn't involve a 2 foot crack across your windshield like mine started out with! Damn the luck...
