They're Sending Me To Camp? (By: Oakley)
Say wha?
Apparently when you turn 7 months old around these parts, weigh 80 pounds, drag your mother down the street when she tries to walk you and jump on friends when they come over to visit, you get sent to camp. Yes, camp.
I'm not talking about a weekend stay with girl scouts that consists of crafting, s'mores and Kum Ba Yah...I wish. I'm talking about a 3 week's stay at some place they call the "Pet Resort".
3 weeks of hard, focused work, on my end, where I'll learn to be a good girl. I've got this sit, stay, shake, high five (with both hands!), roll over and bow stuff down to a tee but according to my humans, I'm due for some intense obedience training. Womp, womp, womp.
Am I excited? A little.
Will I meet friends like Taco, Walter & Romeo? I sure hope so! ;)
Will I learn to be a civilized Ridgeback? I better.
But most of all, will I miss my mother every waking moment of every single day?
I think that answers your question.
I hope this place is ready for me because I've got sass for days, eyes that get me whatever the heck I want and a lot of learning to do. Bring it, Pet Ranch. Buh-ring it.
Love always,
Oakie

Sass for daaays! haha Oakley you're gonna have the best time at camp!
ReplyDeleteDont forget to write mommy and daddy lots of letters too. And maybe you will even learn to fetch them beer and wine from the fridge on top of all the other amazing tricks you'll be able to do!
Steph I cant wait to hear about this! Oakley is going to get GOLD STARS while at camp!!
xoxoxo
so so cute! Sounds like an awesome idea though!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear what you think about it. We want to get a German Shepherd, and would have to send them to a training camp for sure!
ReplyDeleteAh man this is too cute!!
ReplyDeleteI love Ridgebacks!
So cute!! She is going to love it - it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHow are you going to survive 3 weeks without her?! x
This is so cute! I hope that it helps! Geesh her eyes would get her anything she wants around these parts!!!!
ReplyDeleteAw, how sad for both you you! I would hate to be apart from my dog for three weeks! Tough I suppose it would be well worth it if at the end of those three weeks he was the best behaved dog ever! That camp looks so nice! I wish we lived closer to it.
ReplyDeleteAwww too cute! Those eyes would make me give her everything too! Hope they keep some of the sass and bring a little more class! ;)
ReplyDeleteI really want to get my dog into some kind of class, this sounds great!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh that's a long time! I would cry, ha!
ReplyDeletei would cry if i had to spend 3 weeks away from my pups! good luck!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I wish we could get our dog to stop jumping all over people when they come over too *sigh* She has no self awareness whatsoever that she's basically a giant bowling ball knocking people over :-P
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Love the puppy eyes!
ReplyDeleteCute. Hopefully it works. My dog did great with her trainers, but still doesn't listen to us!
ReplyDeleteAwe. She's going to have fun!
ReplyDeletehaha cute!! Hope everything goes good.
ReplyDeletehaha what a face!! omgosh she knows how to work the camera!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't be without Blue, and I think he'd die without me..and I mean that literally, ha.
ReplyDeleteWhen our Graycie was around that age we sent her away to doggy boot camp. It was four weeks long and felt like it was never going to end. She came home with amazing skills and great behavoir. Good luck, it is totally worth it!!
ReplyDeleteHa this is great. Good luck at camp Oakie.
ReplyDeleteI love you Oaks! You will do just fine! I'm more concerned about your mother!! But don't worry, I'll keep her in line!! <3 Aunt Katie
ReplyDeleteCan I get an Amen! I have a pup one month older than Oakley a ridgeback/lab mix and I see Oakley on the Frio River sitting like an angel and I'm like why is their dog so calm and mines a maniac! So glad to hear she jumps on people too! Our dog, Maya did training too, with me not overnight, patience and reinforcements were key! She's not perfect, but she's much, much calmer! She's is S.P.O.I.L.E.D. And we love her sooo much! Good luck it will be worth it I promise!
ReplyDeleteJenny took Zoey to a "camp," it was definitely a different one. The point is Zoey is soooooo good now and they were able to learn a lot about her mannerisms and what certain reactions mean. I think y'all will be super happy with Oakley's results.
ReplyDeleteOhh she's sooooo cute, I can't even take it! That first pic melts my heart! I'd die without my babies for that long, but man would it be great for them to be obedient! Ha!
