Four years ago today, my angel got his wings.
That angel? My daddy.
While January 18th has haunted me every single year, I'm not letting it happen today. I may have gone 4 years without him but I had 21 of the most wonderful years with him that a lot of girls don't have the privilege of having. Not to mention, a million memories to cherish forever.
So today, don't be sad for me, my little brother or my mom. Just make sure you hug your daddy's neck a little tighter the next time you see him. For me?

I don't know if they have blogging in heaven (or even the internet, for that matter) but if they do, I sure do hope he reads this:
We all miss you like crazy and can't wait to be in your arms again one day. There's not a single hour in the day that goes by where I don't think about you and wish you were here again but I know you're in a much better place than the rest of us. May you forever rest in peace and continue to watch over mom, Chris, Beau and myself. I love you, daddio.
Love, your little girl
P.S.-I think you look like Zach Galifianakis in that second picture. ;)

ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know, this post warmed my heart. And it hits so close to home for me, because tomorrow would have been my grandmother's 76th birthday (she pretty much raised me) and it's so hard imagining going through the rest of my life without ever seeing her again. Im posting a blog about it tomorrow, I'll send you the link. Awesome post dear, I am sure your Dad is up there smiling down on you :)
