Let's just go ahead and start this off with the fact that I am NO beauty queen. I know nothing about fashion. Or skin care. Or hair care. Or how to properly apply makeup. I wear white after Labor Day. My favorite pair of shoes are my Asics. And if it were up to me I'd wear a sports bra every day of my life. If it's comfortable, fits, and I feel good in it...why not?!
I should also add that up until now the only thing to ever grace my lips has been good ol' Aquaphor. That's right. Aquaphor: the ultimate cracked and irritated skin healer.
I may or may not blame this on 10+ years of competitive softball under the Texas sun but hey, those were my glory days and today, well, it's time to hang up those cleats. Today we add a little more color to these lips of mine because goopy, colorless Aquaphor just ain't gonna cut it anymore.
Actually...to be perfectly honest...up until today I literally despised lipstick with every ounce of my soul.
Now I know I'm supposed to sit here and say all these great things about Revlon's Colorburst™ Lip Butter simply because this is a "review" post but believe you me, I am HOOKED with a capital
H-O-O-K-E-D. (I told you I would never endorse something I didn't genuinely love and this stuff is no different!) I've even got a few of my girlfriends hooked on this stuff lately. I tell no lies!
Excuse me for a second while I obsess over the smooth, buttery balm + shiny color these babies bring to my kissers...
Peach Parfait
Cotton Candy
Berry Smoothie
So delicate. So light. SO moisturizing. I don't even know what else to say about these except all you non-lipstick/non-lip gloss wearers out there like myself, just take my word for it and go grab one (or 6?), would ya?! I mean, you can physically see the shine on my lips in the above photos and I promise you 1000% there was no lip gloss included in the review of this product. This stuff is magical.
Once again, Revlon knocks it completely out of the park with yet another incredible product (not surprised).
So go. Be happy. Be pretty. And butter those lips of yours! Mmmkay?!
Sealin' it with a kiss...

Honestly, I think the best beauty product that anyone could have is Cetaphil Cleanser. I have tried so many different kind of face washes/cleansers and this one is so gentle, cleans well and leaves your skin feeling soft!
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteBare Minerals, I love the light coverage vs a liquid foundation.
ReplyDeleteI have this product in atleast 10 colors. I stalk cvs for their buy one get one 1/2 off sale on these. As for aquaphor: everyday essential for me!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried these but will have to purchase a couple! I exfoliate my face twice a week with organic sugar. I'm sure it sounds weird but it helps with the texture of my skin so much!
ReplyDeletelove cetaphil!! Especially now that I have post-baby roseacea.
ReplyDeleteOooh I have never been a lipstip girl either but will have to check these out. My best secret is putting powder on my lashes before applying mascera. Lifechanging!!
ReplyDeleteAmen to that sister! I have never been able to keep up with all the beauty stuff. My facial scrub is homemade with olive oil and brown sugar and I do it in the shower. Makes my skin as smooth as butter. I wear lipstick all the time. It's like my mascara. I have to have it when I leave the house no matter what.
ReplyDeleteFirst off let me say you're really pretty! I've followed your blog for a few years now and you just keep getting more pretty everyday! :) I LOVE your eyes!!! Your eye makeup is amazing!!! Now onto your blog post, I'm like you, I'm not a huge fan of lipstick or whatnot, I'm a cocoa butter chapstick kind of girl, but you sold me on these and I'm gonna try them!!! I really like the Berry Smoothie color!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are beautiful! Primer is a must fo those long days to keep your makeup fresh!
ReplyDeletewe love the lip butters! we also have them in peach parfait and berry smoothie. They are so moisturising and give just the right amount of colour!
ReplyDeletep.s. we love your profile pic! so cute

I stopped dying my hair almost a year ago. I've always thought I hated my natural color, but I'm learning to actually like it. And my hair has never been smoother and shinier!! mer.marty[at]yahoo[dot]com

ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of lipstick either, but I am running to Drug Mart today and purchasing the peach and berry colors!! Thanks! Susan
ReplyDeleteI use cervave face lotion with SPF 30 every day.
ReplyDeleteMy beauty tip for dry hair is put a conditioner in your hair at night and sleep with it over night. I do this once a month or so and when I rinse it off in the morning my hair feels soft.

my best kept "secret" is Dr. Jart BB cream. It's a great base and covers all the imperfections before getting wild with all my other makeup. It's SPF 45 which is amazing too.
ReplyDeleteSoap and Glory The Righteous Butter. Hands down the best thing you can do for your legs and body is this lotion. I'm on my third tub and I'll never use anything else. Really works wonders. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of lipstick...but I tried this after reading your blog and I love it! Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteApply Vaseline and wear socks overnight to keep my feet soft.

ReplyDeleteMy secret is just to drink lots of water and keep the skin hydrated from the inside out! :)

For us blondes, when you want to liven up your highlights or for a quick-fix for the "greasies", baby powder works wonders when you don't have time to wash!
ReplyDeleteMy only "secret" is to always curl my eyelashes! Makes a big difference.!
ReplyDeleteAquaphor is one of my secrets (yet clearly it isn't a secret since you know about it too haha). That stuff is magic and can be used for so many things!!! I love it. But also I can't wait to try these Lip Butters!
ReplyDeleteI have found the liquid felt tip eyeliners allow me to draw such a fine line at the base of my lashes that it looks completely natural but really makes my lashes look amazing. Paired with mascara, my eyes really pop without looking made up.

Love the Cotton Candy color! Great post, as much as I love the boldness of the NARS lipsticks I can't live without, your post gave me a bit more insight for a more casual relaxed choice...enjoyed this a lot :)

I swear by getting enough sleep at night. Scientists recommend 8 hrs and 15 mins in a completely dark room that is 65 degrees for optimal sleep. I get that exactly and feel great most days and everyone says I don't look my age.
