Oakley's face pretty much says it all.
We've got a 101% chance of thunderstorms for just about the entire week and get this...we may or may not be getting a cool front! 89 degrees...oh yay! Hey-it's better than the 104 we've been experiencing lately so along with every Texan in America (as my girl Kristen would say "If you're not Texan, you're not American!), I will gladly take it!
Currently outside my office.
Anywho-enough about me. More about my weekend. It was a good one. One that included sleeping in, no alarm clocks, pancakes (multiple times), long walks with our Oakie girl, wine-induced golf cart rides around the hood with our neighbor friends and baby snuggling. LOTS of baby snuggling...which was definitely the highlight of my Sunday afternoon. Seriously-I just wanna hold all 3 nieces, all at the same time, all day long. Professional baby snuggler in my future? I think yes! ;)
one. Oaks FINALLY getting in the lakes in our neighborhood! We've only been "gently" pushing her in for 4 months now...
two. Gluten-free, egg-free, dairy-free dark chocolate chip pancakes. (Recipe coming tomorrow!)
three. My husband's idea of "putting the pillowcases on". Apparently "king size" and "standard" size" are the same thing in a man's world. Who knew?!
four. Oakie sitting pretty for her fish oil. I have tried HUNDREDS of times to give her these little things and she finally likes them and even thinks they're treats. I'm really learning this whole "trick your children into doing what you want" thing!
five. Sunday morning in my kitchen which means...coffee and more pancakes!
six. Snuggles with my ever so precious niece, Taylor.
seven. Beau + Samantha (Swoon! Are they not adorable?!)
eight. Finally working on my office which makes that window pane the fourth official thing we've "hung" in our new house. Baby steps, people. Baby steps.
nine. New bookshelf for "said" office. Sure, I still have 119 books that need a home and I'm sure I'll change it 183 times before it's just right but it's a step in the right direction.
Don't forget to come back manana for the most simple, healthy pancake recipe in all the land! I promise...it will be a household staple! :)
Updating homes definitely takes time! Looks great :)
ReplyDeleteI'm am so excited for this recipe, seriously. Ps, if you have anymore DF recipes, would you kindly send them my way? I have to stay DF for the next 2 months and am a week in and already freaking out!
ReplyDeleteAhhh Oakley is sooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThose pancakes look delicious...can't wait to see the recipe for them tomorrow! I have been eating the protein pancakes a lot but they are so dense. Yours looks much more like a regular consistency!
ReplyDeleteBaby snuggling and pancakes sounds like the perfect weekend to me!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fabulous weekend. Aw, yay for baby snuggles!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the pancake recipe! And yay for the cool front haha! I know how you feel!
ReplyDeleteAnd is it weird that I miss the thunderstorms in the south? We just don't get the good lightening storms like that over here in New England!
I would love to know more about giving the pups fish oil ;) Should all dogs get this? Your blog is just the best read!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing? Please share!! Thanks:)
DeleteMe too!
DeleteIn the UK no one gets my obsession with American pancakes, glad to see someone that eats them every day of the weekend sometimes like myself!!
ReplyDeleteBaby snuggles are the best, so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the pancake recipe!
ReplyDeleteThere is just something about a book in my hand that gets me every time I pass a book store. The nieces look so cute. I would want to hold them all the time too. YAY for updates and fun golf cart rides. Hope you have a great week.

ReplyDeleteOkay I am PUMPED for that chocolate chip pancakes recipe! And I'm also pretty sure I need to visit your library. Holy cow!
ReplyDeleteLove the window pane in your office. Don't worry, we have lived here a YEAR and still barely have anything on the walls. If only pinterest could just place itself on my walls!
And how lucky you are to get those sweet baby cuddles! I am so jealous and they are absolutely precious.
Happy Monday
Looks like you had a great weekend..other than the weather. It has been pretty nasty here lately, but I guess that something they whole South has in common.

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try your pancake recipe-- might try and throw some 'naners & some nuts instead of the chocolate chips! Looks great, though! : )
I have fallen in love with your state! it is so beautiful! And the boots...they are everywhere, I've been in heaven, and the hubs has been dreading seeing the amex bill! LOL. I'm very grateful for the 89 degree temps, and even the rain at times! have a great week, and thanks for the tips!
