Hairy Legs & Yoga Pants

Oh hi. Here I am!

For some random reason I thought I'd take a 2-day blogging hiatus (not that any of you probably noticed) but alas, I am back which inevitably means if you're here, you're stuck reading my BS. I mean, my completely intelligent, politically correct blog posts which I put my entire life and soul into.

In the meantime, I've been Christmas partyin', Christmas shoppin', drinking, packing, wrapping presents followed by more packing and making countless trips out to our new house.
Work Christmas party attire (dress from a boutique called "Julie's Closet") - A mixture of Christmas prezzies and more shizz that needs to be packed up - A few wrapped gifts under my non-existant tree

More on ze house later this week! ;) I pwomise.

Y'all...it is 34 here. Yes-that's a three followed by a four. (It was 80 yesterday.)

I'm a summer girl, through and through. Always have been. Always will be. (Sidenote: My AOL screen name used to be "SuNkIsSeD_DZ"...and we all know our first AOL screen name really defined us for the rest of our lives...) So anywho...there's nothing that ruffles my panties more than 90 degree weather,  not a cloud in the sky and a fresh (or salty) body of water. Ahhhh...doesn't that sound nice to all you Yanks up there freezin' your little hineys off?! Go ahead admit it. That sounds pretty damn good right about now.

That being said...summer, I'm not cheating on you, but winter is definitely having it's perks right now, and in honor of 30 degree temps making their grand entrance into the Lonestar State, it's only appropriate that this post be completely dedicated to the weather. Because do you know what cold weather means for us women?

A few very important things:

1. More layers and the disappearance of shorts and dresses equals less reason to shave. Sorry boys.

2. Yoga pants and leggings are appropriate anywhere at any time (and apparently on any one in any SIZE.) Disclaimer: if leggings or yoga pants emphasize your muffin-top or your cellulite, please refrain from wearing them.

3. Perfect hair conditions. No humidity. Cool wind blowing through my strands. No frizzies. Ahhhh...

4. All those cute summer clothes you wanted 5 months ago? Yep. They're on sale.

5. Holidays = every excuse TO shop every waking moment of every day...even if it is for yourself.

6. Mariah Carey and Michael Buble Christmas CDs. My two faves. And if they aren't yours, we can't be friends anymore.

7. No a/c necessary. Being a Texan folk, our air conditioners are lucky if they every catch a break so up until today, Beau and I have had our a/c on a chilly 68 degrees at night. Cheaper electric bill? Yes, please!

See? Winter isn't so bad, now is it?!
Hairy legs & yoga pants. Does it get any better than that?

Then again this is coming from a Southern redneck who's never experienced "real" snow. Take it for what it's worth, party people. Now where did I put my space heater?

  13. wishing for cold is all fun and games until it's -40 and you get 12 inches of snow in one day ;-)

    Love,
a not at all bitter Minnesotan, who just got(snow) dumped on. Mer.

thankfully it's only gotten as cold as 6 here. that -40 special is usually reserved for January-February ;)

  16. HAHA! Love this. We got hit with a snow storm this weekend... so I'm hoping for spring. Except I live in Minnesota, so it won't be until April. Ugh.

  17. First of all, your AOL screenname? Hilarious! This whole post was so cute, we are the same way down her in FL. Luckily for us, it's a nice 75 outside today

  18. I love love love your Christmas dress! Also, your gift wrapping is beautiful. Please come to my house. (Am I the only one who gets slightly upset when their husbands gift-wrap-jobs mess up the "style" that was going on otherwise?) Speaking of my husband, he is in Texas and told me it was cold there yesterday. "I mean kind of. It was 50. That's cold for what I expected." It was sleeting here last night so I didn't really feel sorry for him...

  25. It was 60 degrees in Manhattan yesterday. That's unreal for us. If winter was always that way I wouldn't hate it one bit. But NOT in December!!! I need snow and frigid fingers to ice skate in Central Park. Boo

  26. I love the people who picked up on the DZ thing! DZ SISTAH FO LYFE!

Anyways, back to my comment: I am LOVING these temperatures!! Seriously, there's nothing I love more than being able to wear my boots out and about. You look adorbs in that dress, btw! (And I never use the word adorbs, wtf...)

  27. I'm a new follower - couldn't agree more about the yoga pants/leggings :)

  28. So glad it finally got cold here in Houston! We'll see how long it lasts though... & your desk looks almost identical to mine, heater & all ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. OMG! I can't believe you said this! I just said these two are my favorite not 1 day ago. Mariah Carey and Michael Buble Christmas CDs rock! Moving in the middle of the holidays! Yikes. Sounds stressful.

  30. That is the cutest dress!
Glad your finding at least some enjoyment in the cold. Frankly, I love summer but in KY we usually have pretty cold winters. I complain about them every year. This year it's been unseasonably warm and now I'm complaining that I want it to get cold. I just can't get in the Christmas spirit with 60 degree temps!

  31. Just found your blog via Twitter! I'm stuck in yoga pants & flip flops @ 39 weeks preggo.

  32. I love Mariah Carey's Christmas CD! It has always been one of my favorites. And I would much rather have the warm summer weather than the 20 degree weather we are experiencing here in the midwest....is it June yet?

    ReplyDelete
  33. It stays warm here too in Cali! Today its like 54 and sunny, we never get snow but we get some chilly days here and there. Sometimes I wish for a liiiiitle bit of snow, but overall I like the mild[ish] climate :)

  34. I'm definitely more of a winter person than a summer person! I looove cold weather. I love layering, having perfect hair, not having to shave (I probably shave 1 every 2 weeks or so hahaha), and drinking hot chocolate. So perfect
