Over It. {Pre-Fall Edition}

Some may consider this a rant...or nice little a b*tch session. Me? I'd just like to refer to it as "I've seen one too many of these pics posted in the social media world to notice yours so you should probably find something more interesting to talk/write about..." And if this offends you, I'm probably not sorry.

New York Fashion Week. Fashion bloggers unite! Enough already. We know you're in NYC. We know you're sipping lattes with some of the finest fashionistas in the fashion community. We know you're getting the low down on the latest fashion trends. We know you've been gifted the most crazy expensive beautiful shoes, dresses and handbags. Do we care? No. Would we have even known Fashion Week was going on without the help of social media? Never. Are we overly jealous of your new Kate Spade Beau Bag? Yes. So consider your job done and enjoy the rest of #NYFW. We really could care less about terrible "trendy" clothing, obnoxiously skinny models and rats nest you so-call "hair styles"...

Pumpkin Spiced Anything. WE GET IT. Praise the LORD...#PSL's are being brewed by the millisecond. Pumpkin-infused candles are flying off the shelves. And pumpkin patches are popping up like snow cone stands in the summertime. For some of you, yes, fall is on the horizon. For the rest of us, we're still contemplating putting on a bikini and heading to the nearest body of water and downing a grande pumpkin spice coffee sounds as good as eating chili in 100 degree weather. Vom.com.

Crossfit. I've been over this one for a while now but have kept my mouth shut. Don't get me wrong...I'm all for a good workout. In fact, I LOVE the fact that Crossfit has spread like wildfire because more people exercising means more healthy folks in this world. I do not, however, LOVE seeing your squatting/deadlifting/box jumping pics posted every hour on the hour. We understand you workout. We know you pay a pretty penny to workout in a un-air conditioned warehouse. We, non-crossfitters, work out just as hard as you do. We know what a sweat angel looks like and have made plenty of our own. We don't need to see yours.

{So. Over. This.}

Advocare Spark. The latest and greatest multilevel marketing "opportunity"! Again, I'm all for healthy living but after working in the supplement industry for 4+ years, I'd really like to know how an energy drink that contains maltodextrin and sucralose be "soooo good for you"? We get it. You sell it. We don't want it.
Football. No-I'm not over football, for crying out loud...it just started! But I AM, however, over the abundance of television screen photos popping up all over Twitter and Instagram every Monday, Thursday and Sunday night. Many of us live with men and we're fully aware of what games are on. If we wanted to see football on anything other than the TV, we'd be paying attention to the big screen rather than scrolling through our news feed...

I'm sure I'm guilty of annoying the ever-loving-crap with constant posts of my dog so I'll take blame for that but sorry fashion weekers/crossfitters/PSL drinkers...I'm just not cool enough to hang with you.

  2. Yes! I love pumpkin as much as the next person but here in MD it is still summer! I don't really want to admit that fall is on the way yet, so let me enjoy whats left of my warm weather. As far as fashion week, half the clothes are weird and the models look like they haven't eaten ... like ever. Don't really want to see skeletor wearing weird clothes, sorry. Love your rant.

  4. This is the best. I couldn't agree more with you on the above list. Enough of the PSL and crossfit. PLEASE. I'm nowhere near ready to drink a hot pumpkin latte. We're still in the 80's and 90's over here!

  5. Gonna hit a record on heat in good ole southwest MO today!! I did a PSL the day they came out and it just felt weird to be drinking it in a tank top! LOL! I'm over the crossfit thing too. We just had a new one open about 15 min from where I live and that's all anyone is talking about. My husband has done the workouts and you can find them on-line very easily there's no reason to pay that much money!!

  6. Oh my gosh! Thank you for posting what all the rest of us were thinking!!! We get it crossfitters/fashion weekers/coffee drinkers: you're cooler than us ;)

  8. Crossfitter's drive me CRAZY!!! Especially the ones who post their workouts on facebook every.damn.day!! We don't care. At all. #&@&$*!!!

  9. Haha!! I am totally fall crazy right now but I am not about the PSL. The crossfit crazy all though I love fitness I don't get the crazy obsession to talk about it non-stop! Amen!

  10. Amen girlfriend! And might I add to the football annoyance list- unnecissicary facebook play-by-plays. Do not get me wrong, I am a football lover to the core, but I do not need to see all eleventy bazillion of your own personal calls on the game every 5 minutes (ex: "come'on ref!" "what were you thinking!?" "coulda had that"). If I need a recap of the game, ill just as my husband, or better yet listen to the real announcers.
    Double Amen to the PSL annoyance.
    :)

  12. Yes to every single thing. Especially the PSL one because my entire post today is about hating on that.

  13. a thousand yes's. It is currently 86 in eastern NC today, the thought of a hot beverage from Starbucks of ANY flavor makes me gag. While I am counting the days for cooler weather, scarves and boots, it is definitely not that time yet!

  14. #1 is the best! I think if I saw ANYONE in the outfit that the model in NYFW is wearing (the big model on the left) that I would spit out my drink and laugh till my stomach hurt.

    The fact that you used "terrible" to describe the clothing is an understatement. It's HIDEOUS!

    Some of the clothes that designers make are fricken hilarious!

    Still jealous of their pretty KS purses too :)

  15. A huge DITTO on the PSL... my post yesterday showed a Starbucks cup and I mentioned that it was a Skinny Vanilla Latte as I cannot even fathom a PSL right now. It's still in the 90's and I plan on wearing my sundresses and spending my weekends by the pool or the beach until the temps start to drop. Plus it's not fall until September 22nd! Why does everyone think it's already fall?! :-P

  16. You just made my day!!!

  17. P.S. Those models and the clothes from NYFW couldn't be more gross. Thankfully we almost never see what's on those runways in real life.

  27. I'm so with you on Crossfit. I tried it and it wasn't for me. I love my group fitness classes and if I'm not having fun at the same time I'm killing myself in the gym, it's not worth it to me. Crossfit wasn't fun for me.

    I have to say... I signed up with AdvoCare a couple years ago, but I don't push the products anymore. There was SO MUCH I discovered I didn't agree with...but it's still everywhere and more people are signing up every day.

    I'm just curious, but what do you do in the supplement industry? Any tips you can share about products, etc.?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hahahaha, this is awesome!!! The pumpkin thing is killing me too because I was at the pool just this weekend. I can't get into fall mode when I'm still sweating buckets every time I walk outside.

  33. P.s.) My coffee is freshly brewed from Nelsonbucks coffee stand here in my kitchen. Sweetened with artificial crap sugar and some nasty creamer I will not be using again. PSL's take that!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yes, yes and yes! I am SO tired of #NYFW on my instafeed, and it is actually 100 degrees in Missouri so thanks but no thanks to the pumpkin spice latte...it is still very much summer.
