How'd He Do It???

Beau and I planned a trip to Concan, TX to stay with his Aunt Frances and enjoy Valentine's weekend at our favorite spot, the Frio River. We invited our couple friends, Jon & Meagen Yager and Jared & Margie Shuler to come with us for the weekend. We arrived on Friday night, ate dinner and played poker. The next morning we woke up and drove around showing our friends all the property around Aunt Frances' home and all the beauty the Frio River has to offer. After we got back to Aunt Frances', we all took naps, which I later found out put the engagement off for a few hours (which I'm sure Beau was happy about!) The guys, Beau, Jon & Jared cooked out on the grill while the girls laid around enjoying the gorgeous view from the porch. After lunch, Beau told me he was "full and needed to go for a walk". I agreed since I really had done much all day however I remember questioning why he was so full because he hadn't eaten any more than he usually does. I have to be honest, I was hoping that Valentine's Day would be the time Beau would propose but I had gotten all worked up over every other holiday in the past so I told myself,"No, this is not it. Don't get yourself all worked up for nothing." Behind Aunt Frances' house is Bear Creek, which is actually where she got married so Bear Creek has always had a special place in our hearts. As we walked towards the creek, we exchanged small talk and chit chatted about our plans for the night. When we got to the creek, I put my hand in the water to see how cold the water was. I turned around, where Beau was standing, and experienced the most surreal thing I will probably ever experience. I can't recreate the entire thing because I was shaking like a leaf and could not believe that after 4 1/2 LONG years of waiting for this moment, it was finally here! ...so I will do my best... As soon as I turned around from playing in the water, Beau looked at me and gave me the sweetest hug. He then proceeded to tell me that he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me (Duh, who wouldn't?!). Next thing I know he was reaching his hand in his pocket and was down on one knee. (I must say I was impressed because we were standing on a bed of rocks and Beau doesn't have the best knees in the world!) Not nervous at all, Beau popped the question and opened the ring box. I was absolutely speechless! I started looking around like it was some type of cruel joke because I had waited my entire life for this moment! As I put my hands on my face, the tears started rolling and I almost forgot that I had to say "yes!" As I stared down at my future husband, he stared back up at me like, "Are you going to say yes?" After realizing I needed to answer the question, I said "yes" but was too afraid to touch the ring box, and was especially too afraid to touch whatever was inside the box. Afterall, it is THE most sentimental and gorgeous piece of jewelry I will ever own! Beau gave me the ring box and I shakingly put the ring on my finger. I gave him the biggest hug and kiss in the world and told him I would be honored to be his wife! On cloud nine, we walked back up to Aunt Frances' house. I remember telling Beau I could not believe he proposed while I was in pajama pants, tennis shoes and absolutely NO makeup but then again if he loves me in that condition, I know he will love me forever! As we got back to the house, Jared and Jon had set up a champagne toast for Beau and I to celebrate. We shared the story with friends and Aunt Frances and celebrated at the House Pasture for the rest of the night. The next morning I woke up and looked at my left hand to make sure it wasn't all just a dream. After 4 1/2 wonderful years, I am FINALLY getting to marry to man of my dreams and cannot WAIT to be Mrs. Beau Howard!!

About Me

I'm a University of Houston alumni with a passion for health and wellness. I am very proud to say I am a Vitamin Consultant for Physician's Preference @ the Hotze Health & Wellness Center in Katy, TX. I absolutely love my job. Why? I am challenged every single day...whether it is learning about a new supplement or coming up with ways to market our vitamins...my wheels are constantly turning. I have never learned so much in my life compared to what I have learned since working here since July 2009!

I am also the future wife of Mr. Beau Howard and I could not be more thrilled to say that! Beau has been my rock for the past four and a half years and I could not imagine life without him. He is so patient yet pushes me to be the best I can be. Beau has been there for me through the hardest, lowest times of my life and I am so thankful for that. He has a wonderful family that I can't wait to be a part of. My mom absolutely adores the ground Beau walks on which always makes life easy!

So this is me! The real...raw me! Who knows? Maybe you will learn something you never knew!
