No thanks, Shutterfly.

I completely anticipated doing the Shutterfly blog post to receive 50 free Christmas cards. Beau absolutely refuses to not not send Christmas cards so I thought, hey why not get 50 free ones?! I really do love Shutterfly and all their cute photo books so there's really nothing bad I can say about them.

...BUT...

....what I can say is that their Christmas cards are completely overpriced.
If you haven't met me, I'm all about getting the best bang for my buck.

Enter: Sam's Club. (Thank you, Beau, for this fabulous find!)

100 Christmas cards for only fifteen smackaroos!? Seriously?!
Printed in one hour?!
No shipping??

Done.

Sorry-not the best quality picture-in-picture.
Forgive me. I was excited.

Consider this our e-Christmas card for all you fabulous followers! :)

And for all my friends and family getting Christmas cards from us this year-sorry for ruining the surprise. You know I'm an open book. Just pretend you never saw these...

While you were out:

Dear Mom,

While you were off in Tennessee enjoying the Messina family reunion without us...Beau & I got into all the Christmas goodies! Well, he complained the whole time helped me get it all out of the attic but I put it all together...with little help of your son and his Franzia sipping friends...classy...

Anyways...

The tree is up!
Moose has on his Santa hat!
((Hot pink, of course!))
Note: mistletoe hanging from the buck on the right ;)

& the girls are loving the fire!
Come home soon! We miss you! :)

Dear God...

I wanted a puppy too but got a stinky little brother instead.
Ha! Love ya, Chris!

Stoled?? Really?! Clearly texting at a young age

is detrimental to your education...

Apparently lil Ginny is too young to partake in adult beverages on New Year's Eve
so I don't blame her for this...
Oh yea-and what about Valentine's Day?! Helllooo!!!
.
Kids...priceless!

Priceless scenery
Love seeing my boy's boots after a hard day's work...

Fifty One

Today would have been daddy's 51st birthday. Although he's not here to celebrate, I know he's up there havin' a heck of a time while his little girl sits and reflects on all the great times we had together.

I'm here in the hill country, Concan to be exact, for the weekend and there's no place I'd rather be. While the boys are out playing on their tractors, I am enjoying every second of this view....
Dad would have just loved it here... beautiful sunsets, the sweet smell of mesquite, axis deer within an arms reach and the infamous Frio River. It is pure bliss.
This has to be my favorite picture of my parents. They're relationship was and is truly something worth idolizing....
...only the good die young...
I couldn't have said it better myself...

I love you daddy!
I miss you more & more each day!
Keep an eye on us.

Wedding Wednesday-Inspiration!

Inspiration Board(s)!

These are my first inspiration boards I ever made on theknot.com, which was where I resided the first 3 months of our engagement. What bride doesn't?!

The theme of our wedding is rustic with a touch of class, as you can tell, and we're a little torn between the two!

I love black and pink (um. duh.) yet, we also LOVE the rustic look...the woodsy feel, the greenery, the dry flowers, the river rocks...love it all..

We've found a pretty happy medium between the two but it definitely hasn't been the easiest job trying to make hot pink and black look "rustic"...if you can imagine. I've had to get really creative, especially with the centerpieces, but I have no doubt they will turn out fabulous! (hi. have we met?!)

What is/was your inspiration for your wedding?! What is/was your favorite wedding website?

p.s. feel free to jump on in single ladies...we all know you have something in mind for your big day too!! Colors? Flowers? Cake? Dress? Hair? E-ring? Spill it!

MWAH!

List-O-Ten: Give Thanks

It's November and Thanksgiving is so close I can taste it!! ((who else is lookin' forward to the 3,426 reasons to eat everything in sight?!))

Anyhoo, I found it appropriate to post 1o things I am most thankful for. As the days go by, it's challenging to not take the little things for granted. It's hard to sit back, take a look at the big picture and realize, hey-maybe life's not so bad afterall!

I am thankful for....

1. The tiny little feet that scurry behind me everywhere I go. ((aka...this diva))
2. My loving, forgiving, and strong family who put up with my crap and still love me for the person I am. (Love you mom & Chris!)

3. Reality TV
  • Obsession Confession: I have a sad fixation with ALL of Bret Michaels' shows....Rock of Love 1, 2 AND 3 and NOW, Life as I know it. Why am I fascinated with a man who wears eyeliner? I didn't even know who Bret Michael's was before his shows. I don't even listen to rock music???
Who knows?

  • Who doesn't love 16 & Pregnant AND Teen Mom???
  • The Bachelor(ette)-DUH
  • Say Yes To The Dress (obv)
  • Ace of Cakes...my dream job.
4. Speaking of jobs, I am very thankful for mine, which challenges me everyday yet allows me the freedom and ability to express my deepest passions and creativity, while teaching me new things every. single. day.

5. My level-headed, non-judgmental, patient, sweet and caring fiance, Beau, who knows everything about me yet still loves me unconditionally! ((that list could go on for dayyys and this smile will never get old!))

6. The 21 years I got to spend with thee strongest, most loving man I could have ever known, my Daddy.

7. My health and my ability to wake up every morning, full of energy (most of the time), ready to take on the world with enough endurance to make it to the gym, get home, cook dinner and spend time with my mom, fiance and puppers.

8. My life experiences: softball, heartache, college years, sorority life, loss of a parent, changing jobs, best friends, buying my first car, dating, growing up, budgeting finances, paying bills, living in a down economy and now-getting married! Although it hasn't always been easy, it's been fun and I know God has his ultimate plan for me. I am right where I'm supposed to be and that's just A-okay with me!
9. Taylor and her newest addition to her bank account list of number ones, Speak Now. She's a music genius.
  • My faves: Mine, Sparks Fly, Mean, Never Grow Up, Speak Now, Long Live....to name a few-err...more like half of her newest songs.
10. This blog, all my followers and all your sweet, meaningful comments.

'Tis the season to be thankful so praise God, enjoy time with family and gobble 'til ya wobble!

What are YOU thankful for?!
