Pink or Blue

So do y'all remember when I posted this adorable picture from Pinterest a while back?

Well...little ol' me got to make that happen this weekend for one of my best girlfriends, Brooke. I had already RSVP'd to a wedding (yes, another one) and was not going to be able to make it to her gender reveal because it fell on the same day. I'd like to refer to myself as one of her better friends, and since I couldn't make it, she gave me and Ashley the honor of knowing the sex and being completely in charge of making that picture (above) happen.

Brooke gave us the envelope with the ultrasound in it last Wednesday. She knew a box with balloons would be involved but she had no idea that we were taking it to a whole 'nother level...

Soooo....

Ashley & I placed our bets & sent this to the mommy-to-be:
*Yes-we're sporting 1980's pjs in a Sear's fitting room (of all places)
*Yes-we've got the "moves like Jagger"

We had our own little gender reveal...
(Should I mention...in the middle of Build-A-Bear?)

We built her a little bear and filled it with LOTS of love :)

And not so patiently waited for Saturday to roll around...

Can I tell y'all how extremely difficult it is to keep something like
this from one of your best friends?! Because it is.

Fast forward to Saturday...I'm just chugging away on a little vino at the reception and knew the big reveal was going down so I waited and waited and waited for my telly to ring and FINALLY-I got the video!!

 ***
Congratulations Brooke & Duane!! Thank you for letting me be a part of this momentous occasion and for letting me somewhat trick you at your own gender reveal party. (Even though I wasn't in attendence you wouldn't have expected anything different, right?!) I canNOT be MORE excited to meet this handsome little guy of yours!! xoxo

(See. TOLD y'all! Even though I don't want babies right now,
I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about them...)

  22. I love seeing all the cute gender reveal ideas. My best friend just found out she is having a boy. On her husband's bday they went and got the ultrasound and had the tech write the gender in an envelope. They went to dinner that night and gave the waitress a pack of pink candles and a pack of blue candles. Told the waitress to open the envelope and put blue candles on the cake if it was a boy and pink if it was a girl. Such a surprise when the waitress came out with a cake full of blue candles! :)

I'm with you - I'm not ready for babies myself just yet, but I love sharing in these moments with my friends!
