one. Tissue paper garland in the making for sissy-in-law's shower. Original tutorial found here.
two. Oakley's newest yoga pose. Legs for dayyssss! Sister is growing by the minute...I swear.
three. Spring brights and stripes.(Old Navy steal-$5!)
four. Bridesmaid dress shopping with my bridey girl, Ashley.
five. More baby shower prep! (Deets to come on Thursday for Saw it. Pinned it. Did it.!)
six. Sneaky peek at shower decor. ;)
seven. Baby shower fiesta - la cake! (THE most delicious vanilla almond cake in the entire world!)
eight. Party in my SIL's room! She'll be 25 weeks this Wednesday! Praying for at least 8 more weeks!
nine. Oakley snuggling with her Easter bunny.
And while I'd like to tell you how I indulged in the BIGGEST Easter dinner ever, hunted for all kinds of pastel-colored eggs and ate hundreds of Cadberry bunnies, my Easter Sunday looked, well, a lil' like so:
Don't worry...nothing life threatening and I'm already feeling better...just a little, ohhh you know... dislocated shoulder. That's all. (And yes, if you think I look drugged out of my mind in that photo, it's because I am. This was right before they completely sedated me to pop that sucker back into place.)
While I'd like to say I was fighting off five year olds in a mad Easter egg hunt, I have no cool story to go with this. Basically, the story went down like so:
- Beau pulls up to gas tank
- I remain in passenger seat
- Lady pulls up in front of us to get gas
- I look down to play on Instagram
- I look back up to see that she is about to back into us
- Panic mode
- I flail my arm over to honk the horn & before I could even push down on it...
- BAM!
- Dislocated shoulder
See? Lame. I know...f
Be jealous of my newest accessory...
My life has succumbed to my husband dressing me AND doing my hair. That guy...he's been such a good nurse for the past couple of days!
While my bones are all back in their designated spots (thank goodess!), and I am in minimal pain (thanks drugs!), some of my tendons and ligaments were damaged and I also have some nerve damage due to the bone pushing into the nerves in my arm so I'll be seeing an orthopedic surgeon this afternoon to make sure I don't need surgery. If you wouldn't mind saying a little prayer about that, I'd appreciate it more than you know!!
Yikes! I hope your shoulder is better asap!
ReplyDeleteGet to feeling better soon, missy!! I've never broken/dislocated a bone in my body and I'm just aching thinking about your poor shoulder!
ReplyDeleteIn other news- I want to come to Texas and steal that little Annie Oakley of yours. Too. Stinking. Cuuuute!
I'm so glad you are feeling better. And the best thing, is you rock that new arm sling better than anyone ever has : )
ReplyDeleteUgh! That's a rough way to end the weekend! Hope you won't need surgery and your shoulder feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteLittle Miss Oakley is ADORABLE! That face should help to get her out of a lot of trouble, haha!
WOW! The surgeons office!? I hope all goes well there today, I'll be praying for you! Other than the arm/shoulder mishap it sounds like y'all had a pretty great weekend! & I LOVE the idea of the fiesta themed baby shower! SO FUN!!!

ReplyDeleteSaying lots of prayers for you friend!! Glad Beau is taking great care of you and hope Miss Oakley is being a good girl for ya!
ReplyDeletefeel better! praying you don't need surgery and you heal super fast! it sucks to be in a sling! and be very thankful that you had drugs when your shoulder was popped back in. it hurts like HELL. i had a friend do mine since my mom wouldn't take me to the emergency room. until a week later when i couldn't move my arm at all.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of little miss Oakley with her paws up on the gate is ADORABLE!!! I'm so sorry about your shoulder, I know that is so painful! That is so weird how it happened! I'll say a little prayer that you don't need surgery.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I can't believe that happened! I've never dislocated anything, but I did have a compound fracture in my arm. Not fun at all. This eventually led to hyperextending it while at cheerleading practice. Seeing your elbow go the wrong way, not fun at all. Hope you feel better soon and don't need surgery!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your arm, I heard that HURTS like a biznitch! Glad you're feeling better, and how precious is it that Beau is dressing you and doing your hair!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your shoulder! That must have been so painful :( ...and I feel bad saying it, but I laughed when I read how you did it. (Guilty) In other news, those photos of little Oakley are so sweet!!
ReplyDeleteGirl I am so sorry, thank goodness they put you under for the pop though. I think I would have screamed bloody murder! It's crazy how such a simple movement can cause something so painful!! Maybe we are getting old?? haha. I hope you get better soon & you don't have to have surgery! Prayers with ya today!! And your little pup is so stinkin cute :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteat least you look great still! ;) Ps where do you find your cute maxis? I've been on the hunt for them lately!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're in good spirits! I will definitely say a little prayer for your doctor's appointment & that your recovery is quick :) Unfortunately I know just what you're going through..my shoulder has dislocated more times than I can count and I had to get surgery a few years ago as a result..annoying is an understatement, but you will be shocked at how good you get at doing things one armed! So sweet that Beau is taking care of you - that's a damn good ponytail if I do say so myself :)
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy! Glad to hear you're feeling better. Sending prayers your way for your doctor's appointment this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteHope your feeling better soon!!
ReplyDeleteP.s. your puppy is absolutely adorable!!
xo,
Sincerely Miss Ash
I hope you're feeling ok! And I have to agree with Ashley above, your pup is such a cutie. The tiny puppy stage goes by wayyy too quick. My dog is 55lbs now and she was only 9lbs when we got her! A year later and a BIG difference. Enjoy it! I post about how crazy our pup has become on my blog, she definitely has her moments!
ReplyDeletefeel better! praying for you
ReplyDeleteBless your heart sweet girl! Feel better... & prayers are sent your way! I hope surgery is not necessary.
ReplyDeletePrayers being sent your way..enjoy your excuse to lay around with nothing to do but Instagram ;)

ReplyDeleteWill be saying prayers! Hopefully surgery is not needed and you are feeling better soon
ReplyDeleteI was over at Beau's parent office today and heard about this incident. So now Beau is hurt, North is hurt, Mark is hurt, and you. The bad news is I bet yall are in a lot of pain, but the good news is I bet all of yall met your insurance deductible for the year.#brightside
