When we first found out we'd be having a baby girl, there was no question her room would be a shade of pink. That being said, the color of the room was the only thing I had in mind. I really had no idea what shade of pink I was going for, what color I wanted the walls to be, what color the crib/dresser would be, what kind of bedding I liked, if I wanted to go with a theme or not, and so on. I really had not the slightest clue as to anything besides that it would be pink.
Until I found this bedding.
And then it was game over from there. Once I placed my order, I knew I wanted to go for a antique/shabby chic/French country style. At least, I think those are the correct terms for the way it all turned out?!
I knew I wanted burlap (duh), lace (duh), monograms (duh) and any/all things super girly. I also knew I wanted to stay as far away from "cheesy" as possible and I definitely did not want her room decked out in paislies. Knowing that we will be spending a lot of time in this room, I wanted to make it like a retreat. Somewhere we could walk in and instantly love. A place that made our hearts happy. A room that our little lady would (hopefully) look back at and love as much as we do!
After many, many hours of painting, hanging chair railing, touching up ceilings, shopping for the most perfect accent pieces, organizing, nailing things to walls, hanging shelves, washing sheets and blankets, anxiously awaiting UPS packages and setting up everything we have (so far), I can officially say this room was designed with an incredible amount of thought and love and I honestly want to just sit in here all day everyday and dream of the day our sweet little girl will be added to the picture!
I sure do hope she enjoys her nursery as much as I have enjoyed putting it together! Without further adieu...Miss Paisley Ann's Nursery. :) (P.S.-I apologize in advance for the over-over-abundance of photos. I wanted to make sure I captured every little detail...also because this is the first official complete room in our house since moving in a year and a half ago...)
A huge thanks to our families who helped us paint the walls (such a labor of love), our neighbors for lending us tools and assisting us with the chair railing (#rookies), our friends for their input and opinions and of course, my sweet, sweet and ever-so-patient husband who helped me with every bit of this room, let me buy any and everything my heart desired in hopes of making this room everything I had dreamed of and listened to me demand politely ask him to hang every shelf, picture, chair railing, basket, window pane and monogram on these walls.
And how could I forget, my beautiful assistant, who spent every waking hour helping me design this entire room... #not
6(ish) more weeks 'til our sweet girl is added to the room and then it will be without a doubt 101% complete! And so will our lives. :)s
