Well. If that title doesn't get your attention I'm not sure what will. Trust me, it will all make sense towards the end of this post.
So obviously, with a new house comes very new and very ( I mean verrrrry) bare walls. While I'm really in no hurry to start putting holes in my walls just yet, I must admit I am currently in the market to find the most perfect piece to go above our bed.
(Note to self: cut tag off comforter...)
As any smart social medialite (yep. I just made that word up.) would do, I pull up good ol' Pinterest and voila! I find the most amazing ideas for things to go above our bed. (PS: find me @MrsStephHoward) How on earth would we function without Pinterest? Foreals. We wouldn't know what to cook, how to decorate, what a sock bun is, etc...Ok no-I don't even want to think about that.
Anywho, now I just need to find a way to get my hands on some of these pieces!
Love the "Me&You" here and the wooden shelf! So simple & sweet!
(And that fence board headboard..swoon!)
My love for window panes will never stray me...I'm not sure about that whole floral thing in the middle but the window pane itself is simply amazing.
This.
All of it.
Now.
Empty rustic frame...swooooon!
Yep...yet another fab window pane.
XOXO + tiny spring flowers...adorbs
And because if decorating were up to my husband,
I'm about 99.9% sure this is what he would insist go above the bed:

Men... (although that IS pretty genius...)
In other news, who's linking up with Katie & I for Saw it. Pinned it. Did it. tomorrow?! I'm stoked to get back on track with my Pinterest projects!! Are you?! This week's project consists of (surprise, surprise!) succulents, cactus and twine. Shocker, I know. ;)
Now go out there and find something to link up with...or else...
OMG my Husby would love that last one! I am currently looking for things to go above our bed as well for the new home... gah! I have no idea what I would do without Pinterest...
ReplyDeleteI l.o.v.e. that me & you one. Now I wish I had a blank canvas above my bed instead of a window.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the window pane idea! I think that would look so great in your bedroom. Maybe you could find (or make?) some sort of window pane shelf thing and combine a few ideas?
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the letters on the shelf! Think I could get away with putting "me & you & you" above my bed since I only share it with two dogs?
ReplyDeleteThat first one is SO pretty!! We have nothing above our bed and now I want that up on there right now.
ReplyDeleteI really love the me and you or the initials...you could totally DIY some initials like that. Cover some cardboard letters in burlap?! Or the empty frames are fun too with small initials inside of them?! Endless options!
ReplyDeletei have been in my house for almost a year and it is still pretty sadly decorated. love these ideas!
ReplyDeletehave you heard about Ana White (ana-white.com)? she has all kinds of relatively simple DIY handmade wooden furniture plans. They're down to earth, easy to understand, and cheap to make. check her out! have you thought about a monogram like Kristen (All in My Twenties) has above her bed??
ReplyDeletelove the XOXO decor above the bed. but i also the love initials too :)
ReplyDeleteand i think every single hubby out there would totally agree with the last photo. hilarious! :)
The fence headboard!? Amazeballs. Need it. Now.
ReplyDeleteI love the second window pane, without the floral of course!
ReplyDeleteI thought you would get a kick out of this. This is your blog after it has been "tranzizzled" snoop doggy dogg style! HAHAHAHA!

At first I thought you wrote, "succulents, cactus, and WINE." I thought, hmm, must be some sort of fancy meal if she's having cactus and wine!? OMG!!! haha :P Love that window with the criss-cross panes. So pretty! I don't foresee you having a bare wall for too long, sister!
ReplyDeleteomgggoodness I love all the window panes. we still havent bit the bullet on a bedroom set.. I know I know.. we are procrastinating.. but I was literally thinking of just making that wooden headboard to save money and sanity!!
ReplyDeleteWe live in a new build house too and I cringe every time we bang a nail into the walls, but they're soooo bare that we have to hang stuff up! It makes the house feel so much more warm and inviting.
ReplyDeleteWe also have nothing up over our bed, so these pics were great inspiration! Can't wait to see what you guys decide on :)
my favorite is the first one! and ofcourse the last one lol
ReplyDeleteleave it to the men and who knows where we would be or what our houses would look like. Can't wait to see more of your room!
I love all of those ideas!! Can't wait to decorate my own home
ReplyDeletelove those all! we have windows right above our bed, which is actually my favorite type of 'head board'
ReplyDeletelove it.. i'm pretty sure though it would be further than making out.. ;) Just started followin you on pinterest! Love that XoXo one, i think i just decided it's going above my bed. :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I love the big letters above the bed idea!!! I have a really high backboard so there isn't to much room for a big statement piece, but a little shelf and some cute letters would work really well!!! Thanks for the great idea!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with the last one
ReplyDeleteIf you want to "write something" above your bed, go to this website... http://www.craftcuts.com/ they have awesome wooden letters for great prices!

All very cute... I love your bedding, too, but you're lucky the husband does! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI think a big window pane is a great idea! Pretty!
ReplyDeleteI saw this pin tonight and instantly thought of your problem--its so cute! http://pinterest.com/pin/125608277079022370/
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
I have new neighbors - I live in a Condo - and we are literally under the same roof which leads to me hearing A LOT of their moving and shaking. (or multiple runs up and down stairs, how many times they throw the toy for their dog, when they want to ask each other a question from upstairs, I can usually hear it first). With that being said, it's super important that I build a friendly relationship with them, and this is the perfect way to introduce myself to them! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI love all those ideas! I can't wait to see how you fill it up.
ReplyDeleteStop it! You are making me want to decorate our master bedroom so bad and I don't have any $$$$
ReplyDeleteAll the pictures are looking fantastic dear. Thank you very much for the sharing.
