Fall Fashion {Hate it/Love it}

hate it
8 things you'll never hear come out of my mouth this fall...

****
1. I can't get my turtleneck to fold over right. Should my necklace go on the outside or should it dangle over the collar?

2. Does this mustard cardi bring out my eyes?

3. Where the hell are my loafers???

4. Babe-what about mah jeans? Are you sure these high-waisted trouser pants don't accentuate my camel toe?

5. This jest doesn't make me look like Billy Ray Cyrus, does it?

6. My uggs...do they make me look like an oompa loompa? Are you sure? I just feel really squatty...They don't make my feet look like boats, do they?

7. Do these booties make me look like a clydesdale? {No} Ok good...because I sure as hell feel like one. {Yes. Yes you do look like a clydesdale, ma'am.}

8. Do you think these earrings are made out of real feathers?

****

Lez just say loafers and booties just aren't my thang.
love it
Happy Fall wishing! We'll be in 90 degree temps through mid-October (at least) so while all you Northerners are snuggled up in scarves and shawls next month, I'll be contemplating whether or not I should wear shorts on Christmas day...

  1. Giiiiirl, you and I could share a closet! I swear. I despise every item you hate and I seriously wouldn't be caught dead with any of it in my closet (except I do own Uggs). Ankle booties look HORRIBLE on everyone and the only people who can pull off loafers are 50 years and older. Feather earrings? So 2011... and I never liked them then! Turtle necks - Can you get more homely???And a jest? Well, yeah... no!

But your loves? Ah, swoon.... I love the romance those colors evoke! Everything looks so whimsicle and comfy - my kinda look! I bet our closets look a lot alike!!!

And I'll bet anything that Beau and Bryan and any other normal/straight guy on the planet like your "loves" list and can't stand your "hates" list. Bryan would NOT think I was hot if I wore ankle booties and a turtle neck, haha!! I want his eyes on me and not someone else, therefore there will be no loafers in my future ;)

  3. Hahahaha. Love the "hate it" section. I am totally with you.

I think we should all just pack up and move to the north for a month, if only to have a legit reason to wear boots/scarves/cute long cardis.

  4. Love your love it's and actually your hate it's too. I think you and I on the same page with fashion :) Can't wait for that fall weather to come around!

  5. Long time reader - first time commenter.
I have to tell you, I laugh everytime I see you mention your big feet! Size 10er over here, and I feel ya about the UGG boots! Look like boats on my feet.
I have the same love/hate relationship with skinny jeans! Love them, yet always think they make my feet look like a size 15!

  6. you don't like loafers or booties or feather earrings?! yikes. i don't think i could follow your blog anymore!

  7. I LOVE your "hate it" section, except I don't like the high waisted pants, jean vest, or uggs. However, I LOVE your "love it" section EVEN MORE. It is adorable!

  8. Btw, I have a bow necklace that I bought about a week or so ago. It isn't pink, but it is sparkly like diamonds. I got it at Target for $4.99 :)

  9. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought of Billy Ray when I looked at the picture, hahahah. Too funny!

I'm agreeing with you!! Although, I do sport my uggs. But my feets get too cold.. haha.. :)

  10. agree with you 100% on both lists!! come be my stylist, please.

  11. that was only 8 things that came out of your mouth, not 10. YOU LIE!

    Kidding. but yes 8.

That turtleneck is absolutely hideous. I dig the feather earrings last year and um loafers are adorbs and I just bought another pair. I AGREE tho on you they might be odd bc of your massive feetsies haha

  12. ps for the record I do NOT dress for my husband and do not agree with that! I dress for ME!

  13. Oh my gah Steph. You make me crack up everytime. I totally agree with you! I don't know what I'm going to do though, with these warm temps through fall. I might be very upset!!

  14. Ha Ha!! I'm dying out laughing and agree with most everything. Everything except I do love a cardigan and I wear the hell out of my Uggs... at home though.. with leggins and giant t shirt/sweat shirt! Very very rarely will you see them out in public.

  15. LOL- whatttt, how can you not like cardi's and loafers?!

That turtleneck is SICK though lol!

  16. all I kept thinking when i was reading this was .. Uh oh .. Katie just bought a pair of loafers lol ... I dont like turtlenecks either! butt Uggs are essential when you live in the OH ... they may be ugly but they are SUPER WARM!

  17. 100% agree with you on everything except the booties..I love me some booties *hangs head in shame*

You will never catch me in loafers though, no matter how cute Mr. Madden makes them.. if I'm going to be wearing flats it will only be sneakers or boots. And even then I'd prefer a heel.

  18. lol I haven't laughed that hard at clothes in a long time! Love the bottom group, the love it! I have to agree with you on everything in the top, I just don't think mustard yellow is a good look for anyone! I do have to admit though, I'm guilty of the uggs. I live in Northern New York and wear them when I'm running errands and don't care what I look like in the dead of winter! lol... I also sadly own feather earrings, yet to wear them though - I'd say bad purchase on my part!

  19. love your lists. as a georgian I can totally relate to your approach to fall. I never know when it'll be a day cold enough to wear cute fall clothes!

  20. I have many pictures from Thanksgiving/Christmas Day wearing shorts because it's in the 70's/80's. I praying for an early fall for Texas!

And I'm not a fan of many of those things either!! Except cardigans. I wear those to work almost every day. :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Couldn't agree with you more on both of those outfits!

    ReplyDelete
  22. HAHAHA! I was actually in shorts on my birthday last year, which is November 16th!!! I couldn't believe it! I sure hope this year is more like Fall & Winter are supposed to be!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I cringe everytime I see UGGS. You're lucky you live down south because as soon as the temps break into the sixties they come right back out of hiding. Hell.

    ReplyDelete
  24. LOVED this post! I couldn't agree with more on both lists. Booties? NO WAY. The feather earrings? NEVER.

The love it, however, I'll take one of each :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. you crack me up! i like loafers, but they don't work for everyone or every outfit i have a jean vest and think they're cute, but ONLY w certain outfits. my hubs hates it though

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love that last set of outfits-too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hahaha I agree with everything! I see people post about loafers and I just cannot bring myself to like them. Ever.
Uggs though....they are WARM and easy...especially in the arctic, I mean, Northern Minnesota and Canada!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I completely agree with your love outfit, and am totally on the hate train with that other one too! :) For living in Texas, you have "northerner" fashion down pat. HAHA

  29. Can I just say that the turtleneck thing has aggravated me since I was old enough to know what the hell a turtleneck was. Seriously - at Christmas at age 5, I'm thinkin, "Ughhh, it's SO ANNOYING that her necklace is DANGLING from her turtleneck, right?" But, then again, it doesn't quite feel right peeking from under the collar {neck?} either ... just put on a normal shirt and a scarf.

  30. Get out. Pretty sure I own everything from your HATE IT section. Except the jest... But I will find one that I love by tomorrow and rock it by Saturday. C'mon jean vests are as good as it gets!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Loafers....are for men! I posted about this the other day. I would feel totally douchey wearing those and most other items on your hate list. However, I do own uggs but they don't go in public. Ok maybe the grocery store.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hahaha loafers and boots are def NOT my thing either. And I never got into the feathers...in my ears or my hair. But hey to each his own I guess!

    ReplyDelete
  33. While I thought I was looking at a "hate" list from early 90s, I admit I love cardigans. Not made like the picture you posted, but this girl wears them all the time! And booties? If I were skinny, I'd rock those bad boys. However, my sausage link legs would look a lot like a clydesdale.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Excuse me? Did I read that correctly? You do not like CARDIGANS? I think I could have a cardigan in every color and be happy. That is a teacher staple and my closet is full of 'em. Or perhaps mustard cardigans you do not like? Hmm..... hahahah
