This morning I woke up wishing yesterday was all just a bad dream. While I'm from the South, it's obvious which way I voted and ya, I'll be honest...it was hard watching the entire thing pan out.
What was even more difficult was seeing all the negative, derogatory, totally unnecessary tweets on my Twitter feed. Tweet after tweet, all I read was evil and hatred and taunting coming from both parties. Gah-the taunting was INSANELY unacceptable. What happened to "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" I was honestly embarrassed that I followed people who would say such a thing and if you think I'm talking about YOU, I probably am.
While my head was exploding with one liners that could have easily been contained in 140 characters or less, unlike some people, I had better things to do than sit on Twitter and "argue" with some stranger behind an iPhone. Grow up people. Really?

It doesn't matter who "won" the election. The ultimate ruler of this nation is not Obama, and obviously not Romney...it's our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ so amongst all the antogonizing media you may come across over the next couple of days, I hope you all remember who's really in charge.
Besides a lot of prayer, and possibly even more vodka (Sorry. Had to. #itsthetruth), there's absolutely nothing any of us can do or say to change the outcome so we might as well put on our big girl panties and deal with it.
Speaking of panties, I stocked up at the VS outlet over the weekend and I don't know what it is about 10 fresh pair of neon colored strips of lace but it really does put an extra pep in this girl's step. (Don't even act like I'm the only one who feels this way.)
And in other totally random news, don't forget to finish up your
Pinterest projects tonight for week 3 of our Saw it. Pinned it. Did it. link up tomorrow!!
Mine may or may not consist of burlap and twine ;)

PS: remember that time I created this little gem:
Well...this spray paint amateur didn't realize the stuff would go EVERYWHERE when I sprayed the charger so it ended up getting on the brick, wood and concrete on the outside of our townhome. (Whoops.) Let's just say I got home this week to a $30 fine AND this hysterical printed copy of the crime I was so eligibly charged for. Ridiculous? Yes.
Don't be surprised if you see my face on the next "60 Minutes"...this is a serious act of violence, people. Let's just say the fact that they took the time to take photos (yes...multiple), print them out, and hand deliver them to my front door made the $30 well worth it.
The things I do for you kids... ;)
I love that you got fined for doing a craft! Don't they know about your linkup?!?!??! HAHA
ReplyDeleteI know, right?! I mean, it's kind of a big deal around here!!
DeleteHahahahaha - That "crime photo" just cracked me up!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't know I was such a criminal, did you?
DeleteThe crime photo seems like something I would be guilty of doing. And also, I totally agree with you on people and their not nice things to say. I finally got off facebook and twitter because it just got out of control!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA! Look at you breaking the law... and that crime photo! WOW. You are such a criminal... Can't wait to see your project!
ReplyDeleteP to the S hosting a little giveaway, my frist giveaway to be exact, on my blog! Head on over and enter ;)
http://www.marcysmustachediaries.blogspot.com/2012/11/sww-my-very-first-giveaway.html
Amen, amen, AMEN sister!! Jesus is our savior, not Obama OR Romney. Now it's time to just pray for our leaders!
ReplyDeletePS your election party dress was SO cute!!
At least you dont have to fix it, because we all know that would be a pain in the ass!! lol!! I agree on the voting, although being Canadian I diont even have an opinion or really know what is going on, but I am just glad it is all done and over with!! Happy Wednesday day!!
ReplyDeleteHow rude!! Don't they know that you have a link up to host?! Those meanies! haha. Even though you and I disagree on politics, you know I still love youuu!
ReplyDeleteOne sentence... that's all it took you from talking about the election to VS panties! That's impressive girl, good job! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat ever did happen to not saying anything if you don't have anything nice to say?! I would have to agree on the craziness that unfolds on social media... I haven't touched my Twitter in a few days because of all the madness I knew would take place. You're so right about who's really in charge. Our lives won't be ruined by who is elected every 4 years. (:
ReplyDeleteI really can't believe I'm even commenting on a criminal's blog right now..... ;)
i agree.. i hate the craziness on facebook/twitter.
ReplyDeletewhy say anything after its all said and done anyway; no point.
and i agree with ashley, our lives wont be ruined..no matter who was elected
no that doesnt mean i voted for obama, i was just saying..
such a criminal!!!'
get out of here.
Totally agree with your words on what happened last night. I am not happy either ok really I'm pissed about him being re-elected, but I refused to get on social media and blow it up with how mad I was.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so one of those girls that enjoys a new bright pair of panties from VS!
A VS outlet...that sounds magical!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the election. No matter the outcome all of the negativity is not necessary! And truth - nothing like a new lace pair of VS's to make any girl smile!
ReplyDeleteAnd - I am a spray paint rookie too! Except when I do it - my husband finds the evidence and it may or may not be more annoying to hear him complaining about my lack of painting skills. I welcome that $30.
:)

Could not agree more about the election. I wrote a similar post today called Election Encouragement -- go check it out!
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better I have orange glitter spray pant tagged on our driveway from a project...oops
ReplyDeleteCheers to the next 4 years!
I could not agree more with you about all of the negativity going around. Obviously it's not what a lot of us wanted but, it's what happened. We have to figure out how to pick ourselves up & move on - make the best decisions possible for ourselves.
ReplyDeleteOn another note... that is HILARIOUS that you spray painted everything else in sight when doing the charger!!! LOL!
Everything in sight is an understatement lol. There were actually MORE spots on the other side of our garage but I didn't include those pics. Such a rebel...
DeleteLove the crime pictures, that's just hilarious! It's funny to think that is somebody's job, to walk around and take "evidence" pictures :D Last night was a hot mess and I stayed away from everything social media (except Instagram) for that very reason. People are crazy!!
ReplyDeleteI know right?! "Hey, your job today is to walk around and take pictures of damage to the outside of the building. Make sure you take plenty of photos, print them and hand deliver them to each person." Good Lord...people are killing and drinking/driving and I get fined for paint on the bricks. Pssh.
DeleteI agree! I was shocked with all the meanness on twitter and facebook....so disgusting!
ReplyDeleteSuch a good point! Through the midst of it all God is still the one truly in charge :)
ReplyDeleteI was having such a hard time on facebook and twitter last night reading all the terrible comments!!!! It made me really sad that people are so hateful, whether it was your candidate that won or your candidate that lost there is NO REASON to be hateful in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more. I just sat there and laughed at all the nonsense that was going on. I mean, really...do these people have NOTHING better to do!?
Deletelord sounds like your property manager has a little too much time on their hands. i spray painted a baker's rack black, on my patio and it went everywhere. i just tell people i used to have a charcoal grill...might have to get an outside rug..
ReplyDeletei didn't watch/read any of the political stuff yesterday...i'm proud of where i live, and although i don't agree with everything one president says, i still am so thankful that i have the choice to vote or not to vote.
LOL I WISH an outdoor rug would have covered my mess. Oh well...at least I don't own the townhome.
DeleteAnd agreed-just happy to have a voice! (even though I sometimes feel like it's not heard!)
Amen on the election and twitter feed!! I am disgusted by the whole thing and how downright rude and disrespectful people are. Classless. God is sovereign, though free will is disturbing. Let's pray He will have mercy on us!!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you on how ridiculous Twitter got last night. I don't necessarily like talking about politics but I did not vote for Obama either. However, the American people voted and it is what it is. I just wish people would think about how all bad all the bickering and belittling makes them look and it will get them no where.
ReplyDeleteAmen! Holy shitballs! Who raised these people? Clearly unaware that they look like asses with this whole madness goin down on social media. I wrote a whole blog post yesterday on how ridiculous all of this shit is. If people really think that either candidate is 100% honest and going to be ABLE to do half the shit they promise anyway, they are clearly living in a bubble. We expect our leaders to "fix" the country when we have grown ass people behaving like that! Never mind how they are probably raising their kids to act like jackasses too. Lord help us. Good post!! :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more! It amazes me how nasty people can get. We are supposed to be "one nation under God". I also think it's time for more than just 2 parties where it's one extreme or the other. I hope that some time in the near future it won't just be the 2 choices as there are things I agree and disagree with on both sides. I kept my mouth shut on FB, Twitter, and my blog for this very reason except to urge people to get out there and vote without saying who I was voting for as to not spark any controversies :-P
ReplyDeleteOn a lighter note a huge LOL to your crafting mishap. At least it's only $30 and you can laugh about it. It's better than our several hundred dollar supposed carpet damage when we left our apartment to move into our house. RIDIC!
HAHA! That is funny, sorry you got fined for that though.
ReplyDeleteGreat post about the negativity. It is ridiculous, we can't change what happened. God has it under control. Amen sister!
I lost 2 blog followers today... I'm pretty sure it's because last night on Twitter I made it clear what political party I am. They must not have liked it, haha!!
ReplyDeleteJust found you today from "Living in Yellow." Also just subscribed. Thank you for being confident in your faith standing up for it in a public forum! I happen to totally agree with you. I was saddened even more by the mean things being said. People like you give me hope and happiness that I need right now! (don't you agree we should have a message that comes up when we post on Twitter or FB that says "Are you SURE you want to post that? Think first." ha. )
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious, those townhouse people need to get it together and realize you have some crafting/DIY projects that need to get done!!! hahaha! I can't talk about the election :( Had to defriend about 15 people from Facebook because of their ridiculous comments after Obama won. I'm trying to be over it but am still pissed today. However, I too believe God is the one who is ultimately in control and we have to believe everything will be alright :) Happy thoughts :) haha xoxoxx
ReplyDeleteAmen. Preach it sistah!
ReplyDeleteAnd those photos for the fine, HIGHlarious.
Oh no girl, sorry about the fine!! But well worth the pin :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the panties story, made me chuckle - there is no better feeling than knowing that your brand new lace matches the color of your outer clothes... I know I'm not the only one?
x
Craft police!! OMG, HOAs are so annoying!
ReplyDeleteBarely there cotton panties are very smooth and very sexy, I love them and they are very true to size, it makes me look sexy.
