Show me a recipe that includes a crockpot and the word "chili" and you'll win my heart over every time.
Show me a recipe that includes a crockpot, the word "chili" AND the word "taco"...and you've just met a best friend for life.
Though I don't necessarily deem this recipe as "healthy", it's definitely not unhealthy in my book because if it were, it wouldn't be the newest staple in the Howard household.
Sure. Fresh beans would be better for us. Non-GMO corn is always the best option. And I should probably stop being lazy and start making my own non-MSG-containing taco seasoning but let's be honest...
Word, Sweet Brown.
Word.
Oh, my beloved crockpot. How I once thought you were something of ancient times, you've now become my right hand man. (Or woman?) Because of you, I now know the true meaning behind "Fix it and forget it" and also have an excuse for not spending countless hours in the kitchen every single night of the week.
Ok. Ok. I'll get on with the goods already and I'll just let my mad food photography skills do all the talking. (That was sarcasm, kids.)
Toss all ingredients into your crockpot. Cook on high for 6 hours or low for 10 hours, top with some shredded cheese (almond cheese, for all my dairy-free peeps) and BAM!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds sooo good!! And is that pic with the recipe your place setting? I'm loving the green (artichoke??) where is it from???
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes-that's our place setting. :) The napkin ring is the succulent napkin rings from Z Gallerie and I absolutely LOVE them!! I get so many compliments on them!!
DeleteThis looks amazing, Steph. I will definitely try it. And look up Rachael Ray's taco seasoning. I used it a few weeks ago when we made a Mexican dish and it was actually pretty good. There's normally tons left over, so you can store it in a container like you would sugar or flour. No MSG :) Hope you're getting excited for your visitors! Can't wait to hear all about it from all your pretty girls, xox
ReplyDeleteOoooh that's SO good to know! I definitely need to try it!
DeleteI am SO excited about this weekend I can hardly stand it! I woke up this morning with an extra pep in my step knowing Thursday was ONE day closer lol. So silly...I know! :)
