My Thanksgiving Secret

Wanna know how to have the happiest Thanksgiving ever?

It's pretty simple, really.
Don't host it.
The end.

Or if you do, make sure you have a crapload of help from your husband, mom and mother-in-law and several bottles of wine...and tell yourself repeatedly "It's almost over..."

Oh-and a really stinking precious set of triplet nieces definitely help, too.

I got far too caught up in the kitchen to visit with my family, nonetheless actually take a photo with them but I did, however, make Ratatouille for the very first time and it was a HIT, if I must say so myself! Recipe to follow in tomorrow's post. I swear-this recipe has "household favorite" written all over it...

She's lucky she doesn't have thumbs and couldn't help out in the kitchen...

While I'm happy to have hosted our very first Thanksgiving at our home for 21 people, 4 babies, 1 kiddo and 2 dogs...I am most grateful for the fact that it is o.v.e.r. Ok...so of course I'm grateful for all these wonderful people, too, but really...mark my words- never. again.

  1. So glad your first Thanksgiving as a hostess was a success! Even if it was a little hectic and not so relaxing... Everyone looks full and happy, so that's still a success, right? Haha. Now take some time for yourself to just RELAX!

  16. I say that every year...until the next year rolls around. It was kinda great this year though. Hubs had to work on thanksgiving, so all us ladies sipped Bellini Martini's and cooked all day Thursday. The only thing to do Friday was throw in the oven and deep fry a turkey!

  17. GIRL. You. are. INSANE. Am I allowed to say that?? I'm only a few years younger than you and I don't think that I could ever imagine doing this! My poor mother on the other hand... she does it ALL BY HERSELF. She doesn't want my help! A saint, she is....
