Tomorrow Beau leaves for his bachelor party cruise [[copy cat!]] and although I will miss him like craaaazy...I'm happy for him to spend 5 days cruising the deep blue sea with 9 of his best friends. The rowdiest of best friends, that is.

Even though I know I'll have a difficult time going to bed by myself, I know it's important for any healthy couple to spend time away from one another. (Sidenote-it's amazing how quick you get used to falling asleep next to someone every night.)

Did we agree on a phone call or single text message? No. We didn't do it for mine so I don't want to put any "rules" on him. He did send a few sweet texts to me while I was on my bachelorette cruise and I ended up calling him 2 or 3 times (which may or may not have cost me an extra $30 on our cell phone bill) but I don't want him to feel obligated to call me.

I've had a lot of people tell me I'm absolutely nuts about "letting" Beau go on a cruise for his bachelor party during spring break. Well guess what? A) I'm not "letting" him go. He wants to go and I'm not going to be the one to tell him no and B) I'm not "nuts". I'm just secure in our relationship, who we are and what we have. I think girls are absolutely out of their minds for wanting to have a joint bachelor/bachelorette party. really?? Do you not trust your significant other that much to the point that you have to be there for his bachelor party?? Maybe it's just me but I would never want to make Beau feel like I needed to babysit him at his own bachelor party. He's a grown man and can make his own decisions. The last thing he needs is a naggy bachelorette up his ass.

((stephanie-you can now step down from your soap box))

Anyways-don't you worry about and all the wives/girlfriends of the bachelor party attendees will be soakin' up the sun on the riverbanks of the good ol' Frio River, where the weather's always warm and the drinks are always flowin'! Can I get a hell ya?!
PS-can you tell I'm totally on weekend mode and it's only Wednesday night?? ;)

  1. We didn't have a "true" bachelor/bachelorette party, mostly because we don't drink. However, I completely agree with you on one thing!! If you can't trust your fiancée' to go out/hang out with friends, why are you getting married?? Y'all sound like y'all have a great, mature relationship!

  2. Seriously this was such a good post. I have a problem with the people that say "let" like you have to ask permission for one another to do something. And if you didn't trust eachother what good would that be for the rest of your life! I hope you have a good weekend!

  3. Ah, I love this post! I had my bachelorette party in San Antonio and my husband went to Vegas. EVERYONE thought I was insane for letting him go there because of all the "bad" things that happen. I wouldn't have changed my mind for anything...I trust him with my whole being, so I had no worries even when he called me at 630am...hadn't slept yet and was completely DRUNK! Ha. Good for you and your fiance for fully trusting one another; Your relationship will be much stronger and a lot longer than others that don't have that! Love your blog, btw.

  4. I couldn't agree with you more!! Adam went to Vegas for his bachelor party and I didn't have a problem with it. If I didn't trust him to go & have a good time then I wouldn't marry him. I agree that it's healthy to spend time apart also and I would say that it's unhealthy for women to expect you to "LET" your fiance/husband/boyfriend do anything. You're not his Momma! I hope you have a relaxing weekend at home. I know I always enjoy the weekends when Adam is out of town and I'm free to hog the tv, paint my nails and rock out to Carrie Underwood w/o any complaints :)

  5. Touche! :) I completely agree girly!

  6. great post girl! so glad i found your blog :) you have some great posts! xo can't wait to read more!

  7. Girl, I totally know what you mean about getting annoyed with the heat during pictures. I was mad because I kept sweating and my hair was going crazy. Oh well. I guess that's what I get for picking July! Haha!

  8. I love this post!!! Im going on a bachlorette cruise in august. chris my fiance found out and decided he is going on a bachlor cruise in sept! ugh! copy cats lol. His groomsmen can't go because his fiance says no. Im like seriously.. Your marrying him.. Do you not trust him?! Its soo pathetic!!
